Just because you can't attend the event doesn't mean that you can't raise money, AV.
I do see Sunday being a good day for the event. I believe the reason it was on a Thursday last year was because of crowds and they would have to "tie up" a whole train for the people participating. That's why they do it on Racers, Gemini, and Rebel Yell; they are high capacity rides.
I wonder how the event will affect the Sunday crowd?

I brought in a grand or so, and I didn't go to any of the events. It's fun to go if you can, but you can always raise money yourself, or donate to someone else's page.

I seem to remember reading last year's coaster at Dorney was Steel Force. My preference would be Talon, but I'll handle any one they throw at me...
My guess is it will be Steel Force again since that's the only coaster at the park that can run 3 trains and with it being a weekend, they probably would not want to run just 1 train on anything else for the non participants.
Plus, marathoning coasters is not as easy as you might think. The longest in a rwo that I could ride Racer, not counting the times they made us all get off and wait for the next train (to give us a break) was 12, I think. I didn't feel very well after the 12 in a row either.
I rode Magnum at CP about a dozen times in a row, without leaving my seat, and I didn't feel sick in any way. Maybe It's different for different coasters, or maybe I'm just getting old. lol ...It could be that I haven't fully recovered from my inner ear problem that I had a few years back too.

I have no issues with marathoning...especially on something with no inversions. 73 rides on El Toro before having to leave the station will do that for you. I even managed 50 rides on Voyage over two days on my only visit, when some told me they couldn't do more than two or three.
I'm starting to get really excited about doing this..and I don't get excited very easily. I hope it happens.
Did anyone else on CB do CFK at Dorney last year? Thoughts?

Carrie did, and talked about it in the podcast around that time.

Dorney is where it's at. There's not much else to say. :)
(Even if Matt was going to ditch us to ride at CP with Josh...whatever, man. ;) )

I got a response to my e-mail from a young lady name of Kara at GKTW. They...and I guess CB and CF...will announce details in April.
Maybe while I'm Toro-ing, Nitro-ing, and Lantern-ing at GAdv on Opening Day?

I've never met anyone from CoasterBuzz (to the best of my knowledge, anyway,) but it'd be cool to say hi to whoever's at Dorney that day.

I might look into doing this as well, with Dorney being my most likely park if so (it's not closest to me, but my sister lives nearby so I can also visit with her while I'm over there)

Gotcha. I guess I'm still a relative newbie here so I didn't make the connection. I also have finally put some first names to the screen names:
Tekwardo=Clint. Raven-Phile=Josh. CoasterQueenTRN=Tina. LostKause=Travis. Vater=Mike. Jeff=Jeff.
Can't figure out the first name of that "Mike Gallagher" person, though. What an odd screen name that is.
Messed up Gator's quote. Oops.

I'm definitely going to be participating this year since it's on a Sunday and I can actually go. I will be joining the Dorney gang. :)
Hooray! Finally, Dorney is going to get the love it so very much deserves. :)

Just got the GKTW e-mail with "save the date" for 2011. Looking forward to it. Maybe KI or Mich Adv this year?
The day after eighty-nine laps on Gemini, little things like climbing stairs took colossal effort. Felt like I'd been in a car wreck. That's the nice thing about the passage of time; you forget the pain and remember helping the kids.
