Coasters that should be repainted at GL

Does anyone else think that now CF owns GL that they will perhaps alter the color schemes of some of the major roller coasters since they have new names? I really think they will eventually and it will probably be after this season while they're still in a transitional phase.

Anyway, on to the roller coasters, I could see Steel Venom being painted yellow eventually just because it has a more "venomous" feeling to it than any other color. I could see maybe Dominator getting another color scheme, but I couldn't tell you what colors would be good for that coaster. Personally, I think Thunderhawk could stay the same as it is. So what do you all think?

Gotta give CF a little time here. They finalized the sale with Six Flags with pretty much no time until the season started. The park was so substandard that it will take this year to get the place up to par. Because of that, we can't possibly pass any judgment on Cedar Fair's Geauga Lake until we see what it looks like next year. The family rides that were taken out were maintenance disasters, and other rides were not up to Cedar Fair's maintenance standards. Once they get some other things taken care of, like making customer service better, cleaning the walkways, and fixing what's broke, then we will start to see some improvement. At this point in time, I would much rather have CF running it than SF
They're probably too busy sweeping up leaves that everyone else used to think was trash at Six Flags to notice. But yea, the only one I can see them changing colors of is Steel Venom.

Painting coasters is not a standard repair/maintenence expense. Its falls under capital expenditures. It will cost them over $300,000 to paint the SLC alone, and about $200,000 to paint the Boomerang.

Take that times the amout of rides, and you have some big bucks going away. People will ride the coaster no matter what it looks like. If you have 1-2 coasters, you make sure it looks great, as it is your flagship ride. In GL's case, the woodies like the Bobs and the Dipper were there before SF, and therefore whatever condition they were left in, that is what you will see.

Batman looks great, as does Superman. I am not really sure if I was holding CF's checkbook if I would even worry about painting now. They really should shut down 1-2 coasters after Labor Day, and start. That park needs a hell of a lot of other improvement before they build a hotel, employee housing, or begin developing the East Side. Whoops, I let it slip.

But, in usual CF fashion, they want everyone to know they are in charge, and you coaster people deserve a new paint job as much as the rides at Knott's or the Point.

Yellow is more venomous? What does that even mean?

I think yellow compliments the snake theme better than any other color. Why do you think VF's Steel Venom is painted yellow?

They already had the paint from Wicked Twister?

What is the most dominating color? Or the most Thunderhawkerous color? The most head-spineriffic?

I could go on....

I agree at least SV should be repainted not to look superman-ish, very recognizable and if the want people to see it as a new and changed park that one should at least be painted whether its new or over the off season.
ApolloAndy, how do you know that they got the paint from Wicked Twister? And Agent Johnson, I'm not saying that GL should go on a painting spree. I'm only suggesting that they might paint a couple of the roller coasters that they renamed to further establish the new Geauga Lake identity. Steel Venom as its painted now, still reminds you of S:UE. I think Dominator could possibly use a new color scheme to erase the Batman identity. This is all just my opinion. Your mileage may vary.

I was kidding.

I understand totally about the Batman / Superman visuals. It is however, hey, we know that you know that this was Superman / Batman. Can we pretend for one season, please? There is other things we need to buy.

The coasters at GL could all be painted primer grey and I wouldn't give a crap. YMMV, indeed.
