Coasters (returned to their former glory)

Another that should be brought back to its original glory:

Revolution at SFMM.

I'd just like to point out that Raging Bull can not be returned to its former gloty, as it never had any to begin with (those trims have always been there).

The trims on the American Eagle have let up some in the past year or three... But, while it's much better in this state, it has yet to be "returned to glory."

It's not so bad that it makes me think "how did I ever like this?" but the memories of Wicked Twister's opening weeks still run true in my head every time I watch it run. Sure, you really can't tell the difference when you're on it and WT is my favorite coaster in the park (only edging Intamin's others because of its shorter line) but when I see the trains not even utilizing that last piece of twisted track on either spike, it makes me sigh heavily ...

How come? I thought that this ride still was "in its glory?"

The bunny hops at the end just aren't the same with those mag. trims they added. You don't have that feeling of MASSIVE ejection and the station coming right up in your face at full force any more. Along the same line Phantom's Revenge final hop has been toned down with those trims also...PR still launches you out on that final hill even with the trims ;)

I thought that the magnetic trims were always on the coaster? I rode the SFA version last spring and I didn't notice anything severe.

What former glory?

Wow a lot of SFDL rants on this topic. S:RoS has always had that trim there I think. And it really makes no difference. Someone mentioned Predator. Its just like all the other Dinn & Summers coasters out there, better to look at than ride, but I always give it a "courtesy ride" when I go to the park. And Viper? How much better was it? I think its actually one of the better Arrows out there that I've ridden.

I do think Mantis' trim is unneccessary now that they run only two trains, lose it. And I agree with Brett about Wicked Twister. I didn't get to CP last year but I was thinking to myself it doesn't really go much higher than S:UE @ SFWoA with the program they run. So the biggest difference between the two is now holding brake vs rear twist, right?

Well yeah Viper's still good, but i've heard people say it used to be smoother. And it needs a new paint job. I think it looked better when it was all black, but no matter what color it is, it needs to be repainted.

I second that! I swear Revolution would have been my second favorite SFMM coaster behind "X" if it wasn't for those stupid, pointless, and UNNECESSARY OTSR retraint (if you could call it that) systems.

"No, it offends me as a comedian."

I say Revolution, SFMM, Colossus SFMM, though I have never ridden them in their prime, they scream possible greatness. I don't really see how Mean Streak ever could have been good, but that is just my impression, that whole one of the biggest is lost on me, considering my fav woodie is Cornball Express, if IB ever attempts to tame this puppy I'd die, same goes for Raven, trim every ride in the world, just don't trim my two babies.

Here are two that are returned to their former glory, yet unridden by me. Texas Cyclone, until that oe accident then for the 25th they got ride of the coffin cars, and Georgia Cyclone, it was wild when it opened then they trimmed the hell out of it for a couple of years now it is supposed to be the first Standing Woodie.

Am I going crazy or was that last post impossible to read?

Superman: Ride of Steel at SFDL got that trim a few weeks after opening in 1999. Why? Intamin designed the brake run too small and with not enough brakes... so the pusher tires were actually almost stopping the train! So, to avoid that problem, they quickly added that trim brake on the hop.

Another thing... Its opened up without seatbelts. They were added soon after a man was ejected during the bunny hops. Luckily, he only got light injuries.

Rattler at Fiesta Texas needs to be returned to it' former glory. I understand it was amazing when it opened in '92, but was effected greatly when they raised the bottom of the first drop 40ft.

------------------
"The Mountain Slidewinder. Voted The #1 Non-Rollercoaster Ride in America Amusement Business Magazine, 1991"

and added the killer trim before the helix. In Robb and Elissas 2002 video it is on there iand down the first drop you seem to clip right along then you get to the helix and EEEEEEEEEERRRRRRRRRRRRRRTTTTTTTTTTT, almost a dead stop.
What is all this talk about S:ROS @ SFDL being better? I've been riding this ride since the day it opened and it has been great since that day.

I've never expierenced this coaster ride rough, besides when it gets cold outside. But this is getting a little tired that some people talk a lot of junk about this coaster and have either never ridden it or compare it to S:ROS @ SFNE.

Come on guys give it a rest.

Your Park only has 1 good coaster! That's too bad!

Tell that to all the people who filed lawsuits against Six Flags for neck and back injuries.

I wish CP would bring back the cool special effects in the Magnum tunnels.
