Coasters in background of Grand Prix of Denver

I'm watching the Shell Grand Prix of Denver on the Speed Channel, and during one part of the circuit, I see one or two coasters with a ferris wheel and skycoaster in the background. I'm just curious what park this is?

This is Six Flags Elitch Gardens. I could see the Grand Prix and SFEG while watching CU get stomped by CSU at Mile High Stadium.

Sounds like the city went all out for the race, with race ticket holders getting $10 off at Elitch.

And the football ticket would get you into the race for (I believe) ten dollars.

I was there today, you could see part of the race from Twister II's station. It is funny because while the parking lot for SFEG was full, the park wasn't crowded at all. They had everything going on in one weekend in one part of Denver, if you have been to Denver, you know what I am talking about. They had Taste of Colorado, Grand Prix Race, CSU vs. CU, plus the regular traffic that SFEG gets. I believe parking was the biggest problem since the Pepsi Centers parking lot was the race track, so everyone parked at SFEG.

Wow... I'd hate to really be in Denver this weekend...

Anybody know who won the race though? I kinda fell asleep around lap 40...
