Coasters at the British Open

For all you golf fans out there: Did you notice, during British Open coverage Sunday, there was an aerial shot of the 18th hole where you could see what was most certainly the Pepsi Max Big One? It was pretty much the only thing on the horizon. Anyone else see it?

I saw that too. They actually zoomed in on it for a minute and one of the announcers said that he couldn't believe people actually paid to ride those things. I thought that was pretty funny.

They showed that shot quite a bit, and zoomed in on it several times.

Ooh, I missed the close-ups. I just saw it from a distance.

Not to offend any British that may be on this board, but they have strange ideas about what makes a pleasure beach resort. Whenever I heard someone talking about Blackpool Pleasure Beach, I pictured someplace warm, with lots of sun. Watching the Open, it looked pretty cold and very cloudy. And the weather the supposedly good this year!

they did a short little coverage on Blackpool on i think saturday or friday...very short but tells alot about it...

I saw the coverage. I also liked the anouncer's comment about people that would actually pay to ride it.

I hope this doesn't offend anyone, but judging from pictures alone, Blackpool reminds me of an extremely oversized Coney Island.

of course the weather didn't look good. Its England for crying out loud. The weather is never very nice there. They should build a dome over the whole *#!^ country.
