Coasters (and Ed Markey) On ABC News

I just got done watching a segment on the ABC news about roller coaster safety. The showed Ed Markey talking and they interviewed the father? of the lady that died on Goliath due to the brain deficiency. The show, as expected, made coasters sound deadly. The one good thing about the show is that they had some great footage (including POV) of Xcellerator at Knott's.

Almost makes me want to pursue journalism so I can be one of the few to actually spread the truth.

Before anyone gripes about rcthemepark66 spelling Xcelerator wrong, I just want to say that why does it matter if we know what he means anyways?

Anyways, I heard about the show but I didn't want to watch, because it didn't seem worth it. Face it, roller coasters are probably going to be declared "unsafe" we see no more or they really are proven to cause brain damage. It's just a whole waste of time in my opinion. Wasn't that Crossfire episode enough?

You suppose Markey rode too many high-G coasters in his developing years?
Sorry, about the spelling error, but SpongeBobAlex, by the way, you misspelled my name.

You would have a hard time finding a job in journalism if you tried to spread the truth. Best bet would be Fox :)

Don't give up. I don't think Markey will get any support. If he does, we will just have to write to our representatives and tell them how we feel.

I'm a life member of the NRA and am used to standing up for my rights. Contact your representatives now and let them know how you feel.

Yeah, Fox would be the best bet. They aren't real liberal heavy like other networks.
This is exactly why I am going into journalism. Well, no it's not, but I know that I can cover the coaster beat and get my facts straight and show how safe roller coasters actually are. Markey doesn't really have many people who back him up, anyway. My guess is he got hurt on a coaster as a kid and it was his own fault. Now he's just bitter.

I'd laugh if the guy falls off his bike, then pursues bike manufacturers for making them unsafe.
