CoasterMania Reservations @ Breakers Express!!

FYI to all. If you are contemplationg going to Coastermania (06/04/05) at Cedar Point and have not selected a hotel you can still get in on a killer deal at Breakers Express (on the Causeway) on a reservation by 03/01/05. The rate I was given with tax for one night is $65.53. You must have a credit card and your card will be charged at the time you call for the room. Its considered a deposit. This rate is also good for 06/03/05. They can be reached at 419-627-2106. Expect to be on hold for a bit. Apparently they are taking several thousand reservations a day due to Castaway Bay. Ask them about the Coastermania rates. Cancellation must be by 05/01/05 and there is a $25 cancellation fee. If you cancel less that 72 hours prior to the visit all of the deposit will be forefitted.

BTW...this rate is cheaper that most of the hotels in the Sandusky area.

Thanks. ;-)

What the usual rate for the Breakers Express?

-Tina

Coasterqueen - I don't know what happened with the previous post. I was suggesting that you visit the park webiste to get information about room rates. The rates seem to drop sometime in October.
Why would anyone want to stay anywhere else but at the Maples.

The maples motel is the only place I stay, it's cozy convenient and the hospitality is superior!

and its hard to beat the price!

Tell em sam sent ya and you'll get a great rate!

(probably get a great rate regardless:)

Maples........OK for the price I guess.

Motel 6......usually it's where I stay but their rates have gone up considerably.

Budget Host Inn.....don't bother.

Rodeway Inn (North)......The last time I stayed there they had NO hot water.

Howard Johnson's (right across from the CP causeway entrance)......not too bad.

The Ramada......pretty cool.

Red Roof........not too shabby.

Comfort Inn- (The one closest to CP)- Avoid this place if possible. It was dirty and the two rooms I "sampled" smelled really bad.

"Heavily medicated for your safety!"

Breakers Express.....really nice, convenient and great prices early and late in the season. And even on non-event weekends, ERT time for staying there. Stayed twice last year and our only complaint was housekeeping missed 1 of our rooms one morning.
I've stayed at the Maples motel a couple of times. It's clean and the rates are pretty darned good, but I just couldn't get over the whole "Bates-Motel" feeling about it all. ;)

I discovered the Villager motel in the closing weekend of '03 and LOVED it. They had nice rooms, rates that were equal too the other motels in the proximity, and best of all they had jacuzzi tubs in every room. This alone was worth the price of the room being a few bucks higher than the "Bates Motel" since a long day walking around in the park can produce some pretty tired muscles on this old fart.

I'm not so sure the "thousands" of calls are a reflection of Castaway Bay so much as they are a reflection of the fact that it is nearly March and this is the time of year things really get busy in reservations anyway.

No endorsements for staying on-site? Aww. :(

I wouldn't have it any other way.

Breakers, Sandcastle, Lighthouse Point - it's all good.

I agree completely, Gonch. RedWife and I are going to CM and we're staying at Breakers. Something nice about being able to just walk from the Magnum entrance back to the room for a midday nap.

I know the first few years we went to CP ('89, 90, '97) we stayed at the Greentree Inn at the causeway entrance. I really liked that place. But I have no idea if it's changed since then.

Agreed. Sandcastle or Breakers are my top choices for CoasterMania.

hey, I just thought of something. At CM is the Magnum exit open or do they force us to use the Main entrance? (I know to go in we have to use the front...)

Oh MAN I totally forgot about Lighthouse Point! EXCELLENT cabins! Good times!

Redman, all three entrances are open during Coastermania. At least they have been for the past couple of years.

Not every room had Jacuzzi tubs but they did have a killer continental breakfast. Also rates are very good for this motel but it is now known as the Knights Inn. Cendant droped the Villager Brand.

Personally, I'm partial to Breakers Express. We've always had a good experience there so I would highly reccomend it.

Although we've decided that on our next CP visit, we are going try the new hotel!

George, yes, the Magnum exit is open right through the end of the ERT at night.

But, yes, you have to go in through the front of the park in the morning. The Magnum entrance remains closed until the resort guest early entry -- though I'm guessing that if someone is in the office they might let you out that way if you want to use it as an exit if you need to get back to your room during the morning ERT.
