Coastermania Date Set! 6/7/2002

I just spoke with CP Customer Service and the date for Coastermania will be Friday, June 7th!!

Oh I'll be there!

I know it's a club event but is the park packed and are the lines shorter for like the big coasters?

Well I can only speak from my CoasterRaina experience this year, but the lines were decent all day. Mind you, all (save one) of my previous visits to the park were on Sundays and this was a Friday, but the lines werent too long. I *think* that Millie got up to about 90mins, but we walked onto Magnum early in the day and the whole back half of the park seemed deserted before about 2pm. I think we had pretty much just "worked around" the crowd.

I'm pretty sure (and loriu, GregLeg, Raven_Phile, Sean F. and a host of others can correct me if I'm wrong) but I think the longest lines of the day were during the ERT on Millie. I hear that almost no one was over on Magnum though...

I believe Jeremy's memory is correct. Millie was certainly the star attraction the last two CoasterMania's. It'll be interesting to see how the crowd spreads this year.

I'm almost certain I'll be there. It will be my 3rd, and they totally rock! I love the ERT, and I've heard that there are going to be more coasters open for ERT this year too...:)

I would expect that Cedar Point will announce some of the details later this month. CoasterMania is the largest event of it type, so ERT is not like most other ERT, but nether-the-less the event is fun and lines during ERT are on the shorter side(except for MF). But word on the street is that there might be some more coasters on the ERT list(just mind you, its a rumor)...

I intend to smack the first enthusiast who says either, "It's just an impulse" or that Millennium Force "has no airtime." ;)

By the way, some scientists are predicting a real low mufflehead count this year, in part because of low lake levels. As long as we don't get those little green/yellow things that swarmed for week straight, I'll be good to go.

Looking foward to coaster mainia this will be my first time!

I hope you are right about the low mufflehead count this year Jeff. Have you ever had to put up a pop-up camper at 10 at night and try not to get thousands of muffleheads in it? Thank God those things don't bite or we would've been eaten alive by Friday morning.

Millie definitely had the longest line during ERT, but it got shorter and shorter the later it got. Magnum was a walk-on. Now should they decide to have ERT for Wicked Twister and Millie (assuming they add WT to the line up) at the same time this year, the lines might even out a little. Lines throughout the park were light last year, but the weather wasn't that great which probably kept people away.
