Um, I'm not 12. I'm 15.
That's a three year difference. #See, I'm good at math too!#
The amusement park rises bold and stark..kids are huddled on the beach in a mist

What is this? lets be mean to Tyler day?
Thankyou Tyler for the heads up on the short lines during loom-in-ah-city. I'm sure I will skip it, and go straight to Gatekeeper for the shorter lines, and I'm sure a very cool night ride.
When I visit the park, I plant to go for 3 days. Might even spend some time at Soak City. Anything that will give me a break from being in longs lines would be welcome. Hoping that early morning ert, will be worth it as well.
I didn't do it! I swear!!
Thanks for the TR! I live 50 minutes from CP but have still never made it to a CM event. Was unaware of this year's until I read it here the day of. I guess that's my bad, but since I'm not a coaster club member, I guess it was too late anyways.
My only thing of value to add to the thread was that I found it hilarious that as soon as Josh showed up,you were eating Cheese On A Stick! I have him to thank as well for introducing us to that culinary masterpiece. And while the price has gotten out of control, you now get free drinks with your platinum pass, so it doesn't hurt quite as much.
As for Luminosity, well, I still haven't seen it. I honestly have no desire to see it. If I were to check it out, it would be for the fireworks and light show. Like Tyler, I dislike that type of music, and don't care about dancing or choreography. I understand why it's there, what demographic it's intended for, and that it is popular, but I miss Wildcat.
Free drinks? Really?! That's awesome! Now, maybe I can save the money I was going to use to get a souvinir mug, and get a t-shirt, and on ride photos!
I didn't do it! I swear!!

Gatekeeper is not a great night ride. Ride it any time between 4 PM and 9 PM and get to Raptor, Maverick, or Millennium at night. Those three are the park's best night rides IMO. The problem with a Gatekeeper night ride is that the whole track is lit up. You can still see everything at night. Plus, the ride is always disorienting.
Timber-Rider, the surprise you will get with Gatekeeper is how fast the line moves. The sign at the front that guesses the wait is always 5-10 minutes longer than the line is. Besides opening day, I've never waited more than 45 minutes for it, and that was at the busiest part of the day actually on the Coastermania day.
When it's 2 o'clock and Millennium, Maverick, and TTD all have an hour+ wait, head to Gatekeeper and Raptor, or head to Gemini and Magnum.
Here's another suggestion for you Timber-rider that saved my family a lot of time and walking: When parking, go to the far left parking booth. Ask for Soak City parking and show them your platinum pass. This will lead you to the back lot, and you will get easier access to Millennium and Maverick during platinum morning ERT. Get those two done as much as you can during that time because in the day, their lines are long. The reason for that is that they are the biggest two rides that accept regular fast-lane. Gatekeeper and Dragster require fast-lane plus, therefore the fastlane line for them is much shorter. During midday, Millennium can have a 35 minute fast-lane line. Once, I saw Maverick with a 45 minute fast-lane line. Therefore, get the Soak City parking and take advantage of the ERT!

Wow... that means you were still busy dirtying diapers when a lot of us started posting here. Damn we're getting old!
Not picking on you, just an observation.

Seriously, I love that I go to the trouble of writing a trip report and it turns into another Tyler and Timber filled thread.
To be honest, this thread is about me, not either of you. Go back to the regular boards.
Yup, I just went there.

LOL, actually, Bryan and I were already on a cheese hunt before Josh got there, but all of our hunger pains synced up at the same time. I love that we got 2 ChOASts and 2 drinks for like $9 with Platinum pass.
When I see "Coastermania 2013", I think it's a general discussion about that day. You should have named it "Tekwardo's Precious Coastermania".
It's my trip report. Don't you know how that works?
Actually, he should have named it "a scorpion, a bird and a dopey turtle walk into a park..."
Either way, it doesn't give you full on permission to be a dick.
