Coastermania- DT w/lights

So for anyone who went to Coastermania at CP last night, what did you think of DT with the lights on?

Have they done this before, or was this a first time thing?

I didn't go but I know that this isn't a first time thing. They do it randomly throughout the year and usually at Coastermania they are on I believe.

EDIT: Throughout the year it is very sporadic, I've just noticed a few trip reports that have mentioned them being on random times throughout the day. *** Edited 6/4/2005 11:02:52 PM UTC by RollrCoastrCrazy***

I rode it just before the ERT started. I wasn't that fond of it with the lights off, and didn't see any point in waiting around for lights on.

do you still get to go to Alaska with the Lights on? We always asked to go to Vegas when we depart but it never seems to work.
it wasn't that great at all, only certain parts are lit up, obviously not the tunnels or anything like that. but It was alright, it was kind of cool to see all the theming about the ride that is so easily missed because of the darkness (even though i never understood the theming of that ride) It was alright, but the ride seemed much more intense 2 years ago (last time I was there).

Hehe, we were talking about this last week. The only other Intamin sled I've ridden was SFoT's Vibora (by way of SFMM, I think), and I have to say I prefer those over the Mack sleds. Regardless, there should be more bobsleds running than there are, they're cool fun *family* coasters. A racing and/or dueling pair could even be a LOT of fun and have decent capacity! ;)

Back to the topic I was digressing from, one of the things I prefer about the Intamins is the *trough*, for both ride AND....appearance. I think they just LOOK cooler than the tubular appearance of the Mack sleds like at PKD. (Not that I *ever* go to PKD and skip a ride on Avalanche, LOL).

Honestly, I'd LOVE to get a chance with the lights on....wonder if that'll be an annual C-Mania thing? (Anyone who knows might throw me this as an enticement to attend next year, since I know CP is in desperate need of more guests at the event, ROFL)...;)

Eh. I thought it was gonna be better than it was. It's cool to do once, I guess. I won't be missing Raptor or Magnum ERT next year to do it again, though.
