Coasterbuzzer's question

I have been wondering this question for awhile since I see something related to it everday. Ok, I'm wondering, are most people here over weight or what? I only 104 lbs. as of yesterday so i'm pretty smallfor a 15-year-old. But most people here sound like they are to big for regular seats and have to go on he "bigger" ones. So is the majority of peoplehre fat or overweight?

I am 14 and 116lbs, but I don't see how that relates to coasters. Big or Small you should love them all!(Goes for peoples, and coasters:))

I'm 16, 140 lbs, and have no problem in seats except for V2's, they are a little to confining for anyone who is tall.

But about people being overweight, it's not the best question to ask, but in general, Americans (the group of people who make up most of this site) are among the most overweight group of people in the world. I think the US is the most overweight country in the world. Add the fact that most of the steel coaster designers are in Europe, where people are smaller in general, you get smaller seats. Add Americans to the picture, and you have a lot of squishing to do. You don't even have to be overweight to have troubles getting on coasters, but tall is enough. Demon and Shockwave are uncomfortable to me because the OTSR puts a lot of presure on my shoulders the whole entire ride, AE and Viper don't give as much legroom as I would like (same goes for the Big Chief CCI trio), and on V2, well, the seats are just too darn small!

So, as you can see, not everyone who has problems getting on some of the coasters at parks are overweight, but just too tall for our own good! I hate being almost 6'3... too close to Deja Vu's height limit for my own good.

Hey, SFGAm management, can I buy a couple cages of Sky Whirl?

Seats;/harnesses are built for a general cross section of body types and sizes.  They make them for the most average cross section of people.  However, each person is different.  Small people have to be compensated for so that they dont fall out.  But larger people have to be compensated for so that they can fit in the ride.  This leaves a lot of gray area.

Im not a skinny guy by any means, but I am not a huge person either.  I work out a lot and have a large upper body.  But nothing compared to some serious body builders/athletes.  I can fit on everything but have difficulty with the Raptor at CP.  I can ride it, but I am definitely squeezed in.

They can't make these rides for everyone and keep them safe.

Enjoy your light weight while you still can!  :)

I'm 15 going on 16 and am 5'9 121 and obviosly have no weight problems w/ coasters, but I've heard that a good portion of people here have problems in terms of long legs not of weight.

Am about to get to that problem on wooden coasters. Im 14 going on 15 a 189 lbs and 6ft 1. SOB is a bit to small and tight but can still fit in the seat. B&M's I have no problem. Whats with making cars smaller these days. Not everyone is skinny anymore.

I'll be 16 in 1.3 months, and I am 180 lbs...mainly muscle...and I'm 6'1".  I didn't find the S:UE restraints confining at all!  Anyways, I fit fine into any and all seats!  I have a lot of room to move around, too.

This subject was discussed at length not too long ago but as far as we are concerned I'm 5'10" and about 215 and have no real problems with most coaster except some woodies with seat deviders make them somewhat of a squeeze. Angelas' problem on the other hand is God blessed her with a wonderfully large chest and child bearing hips. I have no complaints, but some OTSR's that latch with seatbelts are a bit too restraining, which makes no sense because most start ratcheting LONG before they are far enough down to latch the belt.

Just a couple of G-force junkies!

We've had multiple threads about fitting into restraints, AND weight problems.
