CoasterBuzzCon 2005 Suggestions: Days Before, Days after?

J Bird,

Not to prove you wrong, but, how the hell does it take you 3.5 hours to get to Busch Gardens? It's barely 100 miles, 120 at most if you live up past F'burg. 295 flies you around most any Richmond traffic, and 64 traffic usually doesn't get too bad till closer towards Newport News.

Are you going down 17 through the middle penninsula or what?

Oh, and James, I'd stay away from Coney this trip (as you are leaning towards). It could end up costing you a whole day, or at least half a day and a lot of stress. Save that for a Coney/Rye Playland/Jersey Boardwalks trip. Or, even better, for a NYC sightseeing trip.

Personally, if I were you I'd even put off SFGadv and do Knoebles instead, esp. since Kingda Ka may or may not be 'reliable' that early on. PLUS, I loves me some Knoebles.

RatherGoodBear, you're absolutely right. I would come out way ahead by purchasing tickets, instead of the RAD which is now $31 for the rides and wood coasters option. Yikes, I had no idea it gone up again since the last time I went–2003. Even repeating Phoenix and Twister still wouldn't put me up that high. I'm so programmed by going to carnivals that you always come out on top via the RAD wristbands/handstamps, that I assumed the same would be true at Knoebels.

By the way, the 2-hour estimate is a wishful thinking estimate. I may not want to do two parks in one day, depending on time, and my finances. But, on the other hand, I'm not that crazy about staying late at Knoebels for the drive back home. I almost took out a deer in the middle of some small dinky town the last time. He or she was standing right on the double-yellow line.

You could always do Hershey and Williams Grove as my group is doing.

Guess who's back? Back Again? James K's back. Tell a friend.

Knoebels website doesn't give a price for the all-day handstamp for the May events, but because it's only 7 hours instead of the usual 10 or so, I'm sure it will be a few dollars less than the full price.

I wasn't originally considering making a coaster weekend out of it, but since I'm off the Friday before, hopefully I can get (most of) my work done then and blow off two days at the parks. Can I get an "Amen?"

Hello all. In other threads I mentioned my interest in this event, but things happened & it didn't look like it was going to work out. As of yesterday my schedule cleared out and I finally mailed in my registration form.

I am looking forward not only to making my first trip to Dorney, but also to this being my first Coasterbuzz event and meeting a lot of my fellow C'Buzzers.

Since I guess you could call me a CBuzz event noob, is there any official itinerary I should know about or follow once we get there, or will I know once I receieve my tickets in the mail? Thanks everyone!

We'll put something in with the tickets, but it's pretty much the lunch and ERT in the evening.

And speaking of ERT... it's looking rather exclusive at the moment because the registration count is not very big. You'll get a ton of rides I'm sure.

Let's shoot us some deer Joe Joe!!!!

Sounds excellent. Thanks Jeff.

Boy, for not that many participants, there sure were a lot of booked up hotels in the area. I had a little trouble getting reservations this late in the game.

There are a bunch of college graduations that weekend, cyberdman. It's traditionally a busy weekend for the area hotels.

If you do plan on going to Kennywood make sure you stop by a Pittsburgh-area Giant Eagle store to get your "FUNDAY" pass at only $19!

P.S. Stop by the Turnpike and Garfields Nightmare to say Hi! :)

That makes sense and thanks Lord Gonchar. That even gets me a little more excited. I have been itching to get in some serious riding this season. I haven't been on anything since BGT and WDW in February. At least CP opens this weekend.

Oh yeah, nice pin by the way.
