It would be a shame if Kingda Ka wasn't even running now wouldn't it?

Let's shoot us some deer Joe Joe!!!!

SFGAdv is almost promising KK will be open that day and have ERT for their event (this will bring out many idiot SF season pass holders)... Hence I am opting for Dorney *** Edited 2/18/2005 4:37:40 PM UTC by dragonoffrost***

Watch the tram car please....

Although if we limit it to only 64, we won't have to get off during ERT until we want to

Sorry Dude, Cedar Fair safety policy requires every guest to exit the ride and re-enter the queue to ride again.

(I'm not going but I hope the event goes well for everyone)

Well then 128 is the magic number. :)

Do you have to go the whole day? I mean, I'll be in transit between Knoebels and Hershey that evening, so a stop off back in Allentown for nighttime ERT wouldn't be too far-fetched, right?

You have to pick up tickets in the morning, and you have to pay for lunch regardless of whether or not you eat it. You can't attend ERT otherwise.

I might be there. I graduate on the 15th and I still have no idea what I'm going to do (and I hope it doesn't involve moving into the parents' basement in Cali).

Thanks, that's do-able because I'm spending Friday night in Allentown, and Knoebels doesn't open 'till noon. I'll have to ask my trip accomplices if they wanna do it.

The wife and I are just about certain we will be there. Heading out the next day for a week in the Outer Banks, and PA is WAY out of the way...but hopefully I can talk her into staying late for ERT. :)

Maybe I can convince some ops to keep Thunderhawk open for ERT as well. ;)

Sam, I am well aware of what the policies of Cedar Fair parks are (especially Dorney). However, I know for a fact that they have bent rules like that in the past during ERT sessions. Not during normal operating hours, but private events.

With that aside, my comment was more of a joke than anything else! :)

Why yes it would, but it wouldn't be a total loss. I love Nitro and would only be 20 minutes
from my home. I like Dorney, but would prefer
to go when the waterpark is also open. ***
But depending on the opening of Sheikra
I might not be at GrAdv either. *** Edited 2/19/2005 12:22:28 PM UTC by RedLaFrance***

<<< count as 2 ... friend and i will skip the Gadv event since it also includes season pass holders if i recall ....

the year before lasts event was quite lightly attended, ERTs were almost all walk on situations. *** Edited 2/21/2005 6:18:21 PM UTC by Sam A. Marks***

it's not the waits that would bother me ... it's the local crowd if ya know what i mean

I'd have to say that in the past the event has drawn maybe 5% outside the coaster enthusiast community, rarely have I seen folks I hadn't seen at another caoster event where restrictions on attendees were more strict.

Out of curiosity, have you been to a CC or are you simply speculating?

You guys are ahead of me. I have never been to Dorney, or have experienced talon at that, but i would love too make a trip down there some time to see how awsome the park really is. From the reviews I have acknowledged so far, seems like fun.
Well duh, if you haven't been to Dorney you haven't ridden Talon LOL

There might be two of us there, but since both of us work weekends, we'll have to see how our schedules look.
My Aunt is flying in from out west to visit CP for the first time since 1989. I'm gonna try my best to talk her into this as well. She caught the coaster bug right after Thanksgiving when she went with me to Dollywood to meet up with some friends. She's still raving about Tennessee Tornado so I might be able to talk her into Dorney. ;)
