I dont know if anyone has been paying attention to the registered members but in the past few weeks it has been climbing. Could it reach 5,000?

CEDAR POINT AMERICAS "ROCK N ROLLERCOAST!"
Of course it'll reach 5,000, but I'm in no hurry. It really doesn't matter that much. It's not a contest.

The more members, the more noise. Luckily, the mods will keep everything in shape!

Craig, nearing 1,000
Out of curiosity, Jeff, is there any way to tell how many of those 4,500+ are really active members? I'm thinking that there may be quite a number that signed up long ago and never came back, and I know you've mentioned before that you don't delete old registrations, active or not, so they'd still be counted in that number.

Jeff, slowly, you will become the most popular webmaster in coaster history!

Dude,Dude, Dude, Dude, Dude, Dude.....Dude. I've guess you've got a point there.
WASSUP!
I don't want popularity. I used to work in radio, and being a "celebrity" is creepy. People disregard your need for privacy and don't treat you like a human being.
Generally speaking, 60% of all visitors are repeats. That means about 4,000 to 5,000+ people every day have been here before. That's "active" to me, even if they're only lurkers on the site. With 80,000+ track record entries there are obviously a lot more people here than those who post in the forums!

Still... you never find over 200 people surfing Coasterbuzz at once. So you gotta wonder how many of those 5000 members are actively visiting the site. (That is... I haven't seen over 200 at once... yet).
I wonder how many general hits this site gets per month. Does it ever reach near the 1-million marker?

The Great Escape... Soon to become Six Flags Adirondack Escape!!!
Once I saw 200 people surfing. But, being an active member does not mean you have to post on the boards. As long as you use this site in any visible way, your active. That could be submitting your website, updating your track record, giving your thoughts about rumors and news, posting park reviews, and last but not least, posting on the boards. To be active, you only need to do one of htose things, and then there are some things that I didn't list too. Although the more doesn't mean the merrier. As long as new members learn the ways of the board quick, it will keep noise down, but some members never learn.

CCI woodies: A gift from the gods.
5 Days left.
Actually, there have been well over 200 people every afternoon this week, and more than 350 right after the Discovery shows aired. The numbers have been up and down today because of a couple reboots to install security patches as well as the various router and backbone problems the Internet in general has had today (I mentioned these in another thread). Right now the counter is showing 180, which isn't bad this time of night.
The counter works like this. When someone comes to the site, that starts a session. The counter is increased by one. Twenty minutes after that surfer views their last page, the session ends and the counter is decreased by one.

Your best? Losers are always whining about doing their best...winners go home and ******* the prom queen.
How many members have multiple accounts with different email addresses I wonder?
I have my suspicions that some people start up another membership so they can bash parks like SFWOA without running the risk of being unpopular or having their membership cancelled. But hopefully these are few and far between.

Parks done 2001: BPB, PKI, SFWOA, CP, KW, HP, DP, Knoebels, Astroland, SFGAdv, SFNE, SFA, LC, Moreys Pier, PKD, PCW, BGW, DMP.
I don't think most people have that much time on their hands, certainly not thousands of people.
