CoasterBuzz Rating

First and foremost I am very pleased with the Games section. I am glad I can get my park out to the world. But I have 3 parks posted on there so far with roughly 130 downloads. The thing is there has only been 9 total votes for the 3 parks. I am just wandering why people who download the park or whatever you do to determine your rating for a park, why not just simply take the 5 seconds to rate it? I am gald people download my parks, but a simple 5 seconds to see what you thought of it would be an even greater thing.

My first comment would be that if you upload to get ratings, you do so for the wrong reason. But aside from that, in most games you have to tab out and come back if the game doesn't run in a window, which will hose some systems. Be flattered you've had the downloads.

I've been kinda disappointed in this too... my last coaster has 8 downloads but only 3 ratings... and even worse, no comments, so I have no idea how it could improve.

But then again, I never rate *or* download others' coasters, so I can't really talk.

I'm a big fan of comments, whether they are positive or negative. I think if someone rates a coaster or park less than 5, a comment should be mandatory. Problem is, there are probably very few people who would rate a coaster/park if they were forced to comment. I make it a point to comment on every coaster that I rate. I think most people appreciate that. I'm working on finding the time and effort to rate every coaster I download, but that can get tedious...and there are sooo many that I don't think are even worth rating, unfortunately.

I always rate after I've run the track or game. If I can't open the game due to missing obj/data files then I don't rate the game. Perhaps I should just start rating 1 if the creator hasn't exported the scenery files.

I try to comment on things that stick out to me - good or bad. I only rate things I download and those are rare. I only download the stuff that looks really good.

Look I do upload my park for ratings and comments. But by ratings that I want I want to know how I have improved my park from one to another. By someone giving me a rating, good or bad, I am pleased because then I can know how good or bad I can make a park. I hope all that all makes sense.
