CoasterBuzz Podcast #3 posted

Posted | Contributed by Jeff

This week, Jeff, Pat, Mike and Scott contemplate a slow news week.

  • Dan Snyder and Red Zone dis Six Flags icon Mr. Six, and other assorted stabs in the continuing takeover bid.
  • B&M track arrives for alleged Six Flags Magic Mountain flying coaster.
  • Great Wolf sells a portion of its resorts. A normal hotel industry move or lack of confidence?
  • Michael Eisner parts with the Disney board entirely. What's he up to?

I agree with Acoustic Viscosity it does sound like you guys are just sitting there and bashing SFI (must be CF fanboys) for the 2nd week in a row. Here's an Idea instead of putting down SFMM get someone from the park to interveiw on the broadcast. Didn't your parents ever teach you if you don't have something nice to say, than say nothing at all. This is supposed to be a coaster site and there is no Amusment park corp. that adds more coasters to there parks than SFI year after year.

I wasn't complaining about the SF "bashing". Actually, I don't think they were all that harsh. It was amusing to hear the negative comments "on the air" and not just read it on the internet. Maybe they'll be taken a little more seriously--wishful thinking, I know.
Six Flags Over Georgia uses the terrain and is a good distance away from the parking lot ;) But I'd hate for a show not to feature SF bashing.
^^^ there is also no Amusement park corp. worth so little per share.

I always thought that despite the name "COASTERbuzz" that this was more of an amusement park industry site. And it's been said countless times that there's more to an amusement park than just coasters (though those are fun, too! :) )

Didn't your parents ever teach you if you don't have something nice to say, than say nothing at all.

I know mine did. Thankfully, I'm an adult now, and can choose to say what I want without her grouding me...

SFI has deserved the bashing it receives. It's not OUR fault they can't get it together, or do something besides add another coaster to lackluster parks, with virtually no service.

I'm NOT a CP fanboy. I dig the park. Heck, I dug SFMM for years. Then, I went to real parks like Holiday World, and Knoebels, and discovered what a lot of enthusiasts already knew: The corporate parks tend to suck. I don't think the corporate parks can ever create atmosphere that the small parks do, but it still doesn't mean that they can't try, or that they shouldn't have their collective asses kicked from time to time.

Anyone who thinks we're bashing SF just to bash SF hasn't been to too many parks outside of SF parks, or they'd see what we mean.
