CoasterBuzz Club... Is it worth it for Cali peeps?

Hello, I was wondering if it was worth the $20 to join the CoasterBuzz Club if you live in Southern California. Will there be any events planned here?

You know you play to much RCT when you call people peeps.

You don't have to blow out my candle to make your's brighter.

Remember, the main reason for the CB club is to get an ad-free site for a fair cost. The ERT is just something Jeff added in to sweeten the pot. Remember the reasons.

Also you can MAKE it worth it by trying to work with the local parks in you area to have a CB event there!   You can make it happen.  My only excuse is I am too lazy to find out who to contact at SFGAm or at Big Chief's but I have no doubt that a CB Club member may already be working on that.   In other words dont be afraid to do a little homework.  Not only will you make it worthwhile for you to join but maybe MORE worthwhile for other Cali people.

Rhetorical question of the day: If I am an ACE and CB Club member do I get double the benefits?

I would imagine if any cali parks have "coaster club" days with ERT, it's possible your CB Club card could be recognized. Once again, someone would have to work with the parks out there. I would imagine since Michigan's Adventure, CP and PKI are recognizing the Club as official, other parks would as well.

The purpose of the club is to help support the site. Anything else is a bonus, in my opinion. Like others said maybe you could help to set up those CB events at parks near you.

SFGadv Please I'm begging for a Gyro Drop tower and an ArrowBatic.
rob is 100% correct. I joined as soon as Jeff started the club. Not for the ERT, but to support this site. I have seen too many coaster sites disappear. How much time do you spend here? So if you enjoy this site join the club. Don't let it be another casulty.
I love how everybody gets all excited about "ERT".  The way to get ERT is easy, find a day that the park is not crowded!
Exactly!

See im not that worried about the ads on Coaster Buzz I never get any so I wouldn't pay to not get any, so for me the only reason I would join for would be for the ERT.  When they make an event at SFGAm ill join.

Do you like getting CoasterBuzz on Coasterbuzz, CoasterDude316??? That's what it is all about. Keeping the site operational for the people who enjoy discussing thrill rides and getting all the latest news. For me, Coasterbuzz is the best "subscription" I have made. As a token of appreciation, contributors get the opportunity to view the site without ads and exclusive membership to the CBClub, which will be honored at most "CoasterClub" events, "CoasterClub" park discounts,  and a yearly CBCLUB convention at a specified park.
In short, if you like the site, please contribute. The ERT will come in time. The more people in the club, the better chance of being recognized nationwide.

Hell, I think it's worth it for people in Kenya to join. Who cares about the ERT? I may never get to any of these events, but if CB dies, my work day gets a LOT worse. I encourage all of you to do whatever it takes to send in your money. I'm actually considering buying a couple of extras, just to help the site out. What better christmas gift than a well written, well designed, monitored coaster site?

If you're whining about your ERT, you are missing the point.

Amen! SFMM During the week right after labor day and during the week just before Memorial day. Last year on Viper, the ride ops didnt even make us go back through the queue. They boarded the 10 or so passengers in the station, then we hopped back on from the exit platform and re-rode. Three time in a row. That's 21 inversions. We were a bit loppy after the third go 'round and moved on to the next ride. I hit Cedar point THIS year two weeks before Memorial day and the only ride that wasnt walk-on was MF (10 min wait). THAT'S ERT!

Damn!  Why can't I seem to hit the Parks on days like that?

I've also had ERT without being any kind of club member, but most of those were in the 70's, and a couple times when my son was younger and I could take him out of school either very early, or very late in the season and visit during the week.   Now that he's in high school, it's not as easy for him to take a day off without suffering the consequences (missing a day of calculus can be painful).  Also, there is no guarantee that the lines will be walk-ons, although waiting 30 minutes for a ride isn't bad IMO.

Since my homepark is CP, ERT has come back for me as a season pass/JC member.  And Millennium Mania is awesome.  I also joined ACE over a year ago, but not just for ERT, but because I like the idea of getting together with a lot of enthusiasts to who share my love of coaster riding.  That's also why I joined Coasterbuzz.  I've found this site to be better than some of the other sites mostly because it's well run and rarely do discussions get way out of hand.  So I want to support the site.  The ERT bonus will give me a chance to meet other coasterbuzzers, and at parks I may not normally visit.
