Coaster Tours 3/28 Camp Snoopy

Associated parks:
None

Well, I just recently got back from the first Coaster Tours event of the season at Camp Snoopy. There really wasn't any sort of fan fair this time around for the event, as the main purpose with this trip was just to meet people and I'd say the whole trip as a whole was much more laid back, as their really wasn't any set schedule.

However, the "event" wasn't without its perks. dalton, Funkytones, The Beast, a couple of non buzzers, and myself all met up outside to check out to see how things were coming inside Valleyfair this offseason. Valleyfair, despite common belief, is getting something for 2002. Its not a ride, per se, but for some people just as fun. I'll have pictures and details at Valleyfair as soon as my film develops. Other then checking out the new stuff, we just kind of checked out the park and kind of measured different areas of the park to see how accomadating they would be for future attractions.

Before we headed to the mall, we stopped by the Season ticket office and shot the bull with a couple of people there, ate, and then took off for Bloomington.

At Camp Snoopy I found a packed park, which took me by suprise as it was a Thursday, but what are you going to do? First ride we went on was the Mighty Axe which seemed to be running a bit tamer program then normal. Eventually we headed over to the Flume where my brain decided to shut down for a couple of minutes and I found myself sitting in the front of a 4 man flume and getting drenched while wearing jeans.

After that we decided to check a few shops out at the mall for a while, and then came back to hit up the Ripsaw, which was running two trains and a little faster then normal. At this point it may end up topping Woodstock's Express on my list yet ;) All in all it was real, it was fun, and it was cool to meet a couple of the faces behing the names on the boards. The next Coaster Tours event is shaping up to be promising as we visit our first "real" park of the year at the World's of Fun in May.

See ya this summer at VF! and stay off the handrails! ;)
