You may be suprised I say this and I am too but Millennium Force went beyond what I expected. Before I had never been on a Out n' back like Maggie or a giant coaster like Millie. I'd never really gotten the air experienced on those. Although I'm terrible at it if a new ride is being built I don't try to overhype it. Maybe that's why I'm the only one who actually thinks TRTR is decent. :)

It's his turn to feast, when you ride the Son of Beast.
I would have to go with 3 coasters:
1) Gemini at CP. It looked ok but I wasn't expecting it to be such a fun coaster. I love it!
2) MF. I hadn't been on a hyper or giga before and I didn't think a steel coaster without loops could be fun. I knew MF was going to be good but I thought it would be boring after the first drop. Not true at all. What a monster!
3) Kraken at SWF. It didn't look like a steep drop at all and considering it was at Sea World I didn't think it would deliver. The drop is deceptively very steep and the 0g roll was the best I've experienced. I rate it over all loopers I've been on to date.
All of the coasters at Kennywood exceeded my expectations. Especially Exterminator and Jackrabbit! You don't hear much about these two and they were oh so re-ridable!
Deja Vu was a pleasant surprise. Though the actual travel through the course is average, the face-down spike is the #1 scariest moment on any ride ever, and you do it twice.
I hate woodies, but Ghostrider managed to change my opinion.

I've traded in my 2000 Giovanola for a 2002 Arrow X4D :)
My other car is now an Arrow X4D!
- The Legend
- Thunder Run
- Cornball Express (#2 Woodie)
- Beastie (yes BEASTIE)
- Dania Beach Hurricane
- Thunderation
I'm a fan of wooden over steel, but Cornball Express and the "new" Legend blew me away this last trip (SRM 2002).

Georgia Scorcher. I went onto that ride expecting a experience similar to the Vortex at PC. Man, was I wrong!
Not only is every transition on that coaster smooth, but you actually get a few pops of airtime on it. The turns are smooth, the inversions are smooth, and the turnaround is bliss. B&M need to put those same turnarounds on their other coasters.
In short, I used to dislike Stand-Up coasters because of the roughness and the pain I would have in my legs after I rode. Georgia Scorcher changed my perspective on Stand-Ups. For those who aren't very fond of Stand-Ups, I'd say you just haven't experienced a really good one.

"Enjoy your record-breaking ride on Millennium Force"
For me it has to be Screamin Eagle at Six Flags St Louis. I had gone on that ride with all of the trip report comments going through my head as to how rough this coaster was and how there wasnt a lick of airtime. I rode it and it turned out to be a lot smoother than some of the woodies I have been on and had a TON of air, some of it ejector but mostly floater. This coaster also had a seriously high "giggle" factor which makes it a great ride in my book.
Also rans: Cyclops, Ninja(SFStl), Scorpion(BGT), Mantis(CP)
