Coaster Shows

Does anyone know when the network stations will be premiering the new shows for 2002!!!
I'm pretty sure that Discovery Channel will have their Thrills, Chills, and Spills night around Memorial Day like they always do.

Yeah, it will be in May. This time of year is dead time for coaster shows.

Oh, man!  I'm not about to miss these shows.  I bet they're gonna be pretty good and maybe they'll actually show Son of Beast.  I still don't believe they didn't show SOB (in the shows last year) except for one clip of it going through the loop.  They only focused on MF and H:XLC.  I hope they cover X in these shows, too.

Coming soon!
I'm sure they will cover X, they coverd MF a lot last year and now X is the big thing so they will cover X.
Ok whenever I see a coaster show it seems to be always a OLD one!! Are there ever any new ones? *LightBulb* .. lets make a 24/7 coaster network!
SFNEboy: hey, you stole that light bulb!  its been suggusted before and, while most enthusiasts would love one, it probably won't work.

I think it is obvious that the coaster shows are big draws, because of the sheer number of them on t.v. They usually just recycle old clips and call them new shows. The clip of the Texas Giant on "More top 10 coasters" was actually the same clip on the show "Wild Rides."

Yea, SOB will be in the shows. I was invited and attended the Discovery shoot this past year at PKI. It was a good time for all and was very well handled by PKI and all involved.
Isn't Rollercoaster coming on again on the 30th?

CP! Still the coaster capital of the world in 2002!

They still got Hypersonic on and it opened in March.

So what is better? SFMM or CP? I don't care! They both have 29 coasters between them that they build so we can have a good time!
I have said this before but I'll vent again.  I don't watch the last 20 minutes of most coaster shows because they go in depth with simulators.  IMO, simulators are totally unrelated to coasters, and there's enough to make at least a 30 minute show about them alone, which is what the producers should do, instead of some simulator designer harking that "coasters will be obselete in the future."  Not likely, pal!
The new Discovery Channel shows will air on Monday, May 27 (Memorial Day).

I know of two new shows: Extreme Rides 2002 and the 2002 version of Top 10 Coasters.

The park segments were shot last summer, but the end of Extreme Rides 2002 will include a bit about the big new rides opening this year. In fact, I have an email this morning from the producer asking about ZOOMbabwe footage for the show.

They Discovery Channel website should have lots of promotion material online in May.

Heading to Chicago in the morning for No Coaster Con ... if the weather behaves!

Be safe!  Paula

Thanks, Paula!  Several of us should be in these videos, but we really hadn't heard specific air dates yet.
