Coaster Research

How will research be done in RCTII? Anyone know? Will you get "B&M" as opposed to "Steel Twister"? Or will it be similar to what it is now?

I think it'd be really cool that it might take a little longer, but you reserch coaster companies rather than types. So instead of Steel Twister, you'd research B&M (which is all the steel twister track is anyway) and you'd get the inverted in there as well. You could research Vekoma and get boomerangs, flyers and SLCs, you could research Intamins and get Impulses, Intamin hyper track, overbanks, steeper drops, etc.

Maybe thats too much complexity for the GP, but I think it'd be cool and I think it'd get the word out about the different manufacturers - educate the public a little ;)

I doubt there will be actual manufacturer names in there due to licensing and such. The coaster type names will likely stay the same.

Goodbye Whizzer, dear friend. You set me rolling many years ago into this fun hobby...

Besides... the coasters in MY park are designed by ME!! :)

How could you research a B&M roller coaster if they've already done it? I think that if they wanted to include company names in the game, they would have to go through an ordering process. It would be neat but as already stated, copyrighting and liscensing would be a problem.

If you like Wicked Twister in the back, does that mean you like to get screwed in the rear?

I don't think the public (99% of people that own the game) cares about designer names. It would be a lot less confusing to just have names like wood coaster or steel twister.
