Coaster Photography

Admittedly, I've done that several times myself too. I've rejected going on rides in favour of taking photos of it many times. I've schedule trips to parks on absolutely miserable days, simply to get some different sorts of pictures (though nothing beats those perfectly blue winter days we in Australia).

I'm not sure if I'd consider it more exciting. It can certainly be more relieving than riding much of the time. Just walking around, taking pictures of everything from flowers to local wildlife to... (shock horror) coasters.

I've been into photography for years. I remember I used to lock myself in our darkroom printing out copies of pictures my grandfather took during the War (he smuggled his camera - Nikon or Kodak, can't quite remember - all the way to Tobruk). Coaster, though I'm more passionate about, don't seem to have that fantastic pull that photography have - where you can be fixed on getting one shot right for hours.

Sorry for my life story. The autobiography (with foreword by Paul Ruben) is coming in 2004. :)

So what if the best coaster in Australia is a second hand Arrow?

If I have been to a park before, I usually spend a lot of time taking pictures than riding, but riding always comes first. After Christmas, I got a Fuji FinePix 3800 Digital Canera and it takes incredible shots. I went to Wild Adventures in January and it captured the coasters perfectly.
