I'm not sure if I'd consider it more exciting. It can certainly be more relieving than riding much of the time. Just walking around, taking pictures of everything from flowers to local wildlife to... (shock horror) coasters.
I've been into photography for years. I remember I used to lock myself in our darkroom printing out copies of pictures my grandfather took during the War (he smuggled his camera - Nikon or Kodak, can't quite remember - all the way to Tobruk). Coaster, though I'm more passionate about, don't seem to have that fantastic pull that photography have - where you can be fixed on getting one shot right for hours.
Sorry for my life story. The autobiography (with foreword by Paul Ruben) is coming in 2004. :)
