Whats the current coaster marathon record? Has anyone here tried to break or broke the record?

What do you mean by coasters marathon...most coasters ridden in one day?

Yeah, I saw this show on Discovery a while ago, like 30 coasters in 24 hours or something like that and they broke that by like 4 or 5 if I remember correctly.

Actually, It was 40 coasters in 24 hours and they got the record with something like 44, yet 3 teams have already planned to shatter this record, which won't be hard soon with the addition of Xcelerator and X. I have no clue if the record has been broken but you can probably find out using Google or something.

Thats not what i meant I mean consecutivly riding one coaster. Oh the the record you guys are talking about was broken and its 75 coasters or so in 24 hrs.

Well 2 people from the Florida Coaster Club. rode Kraken @ SWO 91 times in a row on 2/21.

they werent in one state they used a helicopter. They followed all the guiness laws and stuff i guess team Grp just didnt think or doing this.

They couldn't have gotten very far using a helicopter. There are a lot of coasters in that area, and they pretty had ridden them all anyways. A copter wouldn't have helped them.

they did ride 75 coasters. They went from Busch Gardens Williamsburg hitting every park on the way to Hershey. but i think its kinda cheap cause they used a helicopter.

Its something ridiculous like 2 months or something. Maybe even longer. I do believe it was set at BPB and i doubt it will be broken any time soon.

Yeah the get 5 minutes for every hour I think. Anyone know what the record is? I know Michael Bodely(excuse my spelling) had it at one time but I know for a fact it's been broken.

Yeah, Mike had it for a while, but he's been blown away many times over in the recent past. They do get bathroom breaks and stuff. I think that they can bypass the breaks though, and collect mintues for later on by doing that. The official rules must be around somewhere....

And interesting stuff, I read an interview with the guy that has the record (his names escapes me but i think it may be a hispanic name, maybe not) but when marathoners finish, they usually can't sleep very well because they still wake up every few minutes in bed to brace themselves for the first drop.

rg98, Richard Rodriguez, world-record coaster marathon rider, AND a diabetic! Of course he's set records in coaster riding for over 20 years now, so any would-be pretenders to the throne had better be prepared!

I think I could break the record if I did it on Raging Bull. That thing is so comfortable, how can you not like it? The only problem is the record is rediculously long of a duration, and I just don't have the time or money to do something like that. It would be fun to try, though (for a few hours, anyways. Then it would just get boring.)

I actually wrote a letter to Carowinds asking to do a 1000 circuit run on goldrusher or hurler talking approx. 21 hours but they never responded! Bad Carowinds, BAD!
