coaster mania at CP

Me and my son want to go to Coaster Mania on Friday but our membership cards won't be here in time. Each member is allowed 1 guest. Is there any way we could hook up with a couple of members that are going to Cedar Point to take advantage of this fantastic event?

I suspect you wouldn't have an issue with finding people who can be your "sponsor."

It's an enthusiast event, not an AA meeting.

There are staggering similarities, I hear.

If you're staggering at either one, you're not doing it right.

Says you. I say I'm doing it exactly right.

Vater, we say this because we all love you...

Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened.

what were the wait times like for MF and TTD during ERT

I wasn't there, but ERT, or exclusive riding time, usually means that there is little to no wait. It's usually no wait.

Except when it's not.

Right. Doesn't everyone and their third cousin go to CoasterMania now? I can't imagine ERT being anything other than just RT.

I had to wait about 40 minutes, even with ERT, to get on Gatekeeper because I didn't get to Cedar Point until 9am and more than 1500 people showed up for Coaster Mania. (The only reason I know how many showed up for this event is that I was supposed to get a card to attach to the hook on the thing they gave me to wear around my neck but didn't because according to the folks in the hospitality/guest relations office, they had made 1500 of them and then run out.)

By the time I got off Gatekeeper and made my way to Millennium Force, the park had already opened to the public and I had to wait for the better part of an hour to get on.

I think they announced just over 2000 in attendance for CM. I got there and registered and was in the gate at 7:30. I waited an hour for Gatekeeper (I got in at the wrong time, as my friends 10 minutes ahead of me waited less, right birdhombre?).

I headed back to meet them at MF and waited maybe 20 min for each ride. Then did Blue Streak with little wait. During normal operation, it was a 30 minute wait maybe for Raptor when we rode, but after lunch all the big rides were about an hour. Not an ungodly busy day at CP, but ERT for Mania is hardly what you get at most places.

Maverick has a 20 minute wait at opening of nite ERT, so we rode twice, skipped MS, walked onto Minetrain, just missed Gemini cause Raven-Phile had to pee. Then we rode Magnum a time or 2, then TTD, and called it quits a little early.

I'll have a full TR soon. It's mostly talking about how FREAKING AWESOME Luminosity is.

I think Luminosity was so awesome because of who you were hanging out with. I'm just saying.

It was an improvement over last year, for sure. The VIP party wasn't bad either.

This year was my first time seeing it and I thought it was outstanding...especially compared to your normal park fare.

When i went over to MF the line was only on the ramp i got 3 rides on it in 30mins. There was no line for raptor and i rode it twice without getting off only had to change rows because i rode the front the first ride. I rode GK first thing only waited about 15 mins only because the ride wasn't open yet for ert.

^^ I'm glad to hear there's an improvement. I didn't catch the show live last summer, but was ok with that after I saw it on you tube. I just didnt think the talent was all that great, and there's always a danger when theme park entertainers try to cover well known hits anyway. I mean, Adele? Seriously? You gotta have the chops to pull that off.

I guess I'll make it a point this year.

It was my first time seeing it, too. We hung out by the tables in the back and had a couple beers. It was well done, and I was surprised it was all live, and not a recorded musical track.
