I've noticed a lot of "hatin'" lately in the forums and news articles. Honestly this is getting onmy nerves and many other people's as well. Folks we're coaster ENTHUSIATS! We love coasters no matter what they do, how big they are, or how much money they cost.
I know we all have our preferences, but bashing on a coaster is much like blasphemy. What your thoughts on the subject? Do you agree?

Absolutely, it tends to get annoying when coaster fans complain that the major ride is ONLY an SLC or Boomerang. I appreciate any coaster built, and the fact a park wants to make itself more appealing is fine with me.
And it not about ONLY getting this or ONLY getting that, its a product to entice the public, not essentially Enthusiasts. We make up 1.2% of the coaster riding public. The average person isn't going to complain the new ride is not a B&M hyper invert.
As the recent titled article on Coasterbuzz stated,
"Its about customer service, stupid"
And enough with the Trims already. Comments like this just make me so mad "Yea they really made the ride suck when they added trims."
John Peck, you hit the nail right on the head. Some "enthusiasts" think they are the only one's who's opinion matters, and that they're the only one's who support the parks with their hard earned cash. We make up a small percentage of people who go to parks, and most of the GP don't know anything about what name SF is using in another state. Until a few years ago, I didn't either, nor did I care to know as long as my homepark kept getting new rides. I'm tired of the whining over names of coasters, clones, what park didn't get what and putting down parks because they're not in your region. The clone thing really bothers me because there is no such thing. Once the coaster opens, it has different riders, maintanace care, and it's own feel. I have ridden every Batman there is except one, and each one thrills the heck out of me. Nuff said.

Right on Steel Phantom! What most people dont realize that these are for safety precautions. Just think if the trims weren't on Goliath and some one was severly injured, then SFMM had to destoy the coaster b/c of lawsuits and that's a crying shame.

I totally agree with everything said so far in this thread.
My favorite is people who say "Goliath sucks." It is smooth, fast and has a little bit of everything. If you are not having fun on a coaster with a 255' drop, some good air, & huge sustained G's, what the heck DO you have fun on?
Just have some fun, instead of looking for every little "fault" on a ride. Of course, some rides are better than others.

"X" marks the spot in 2001!
Some people just try too hard and try to think about things too much, which makes for nothing. There are so many threads on this board these days that I cannot look at or even think about. Then there are people that cannot ignore things, and that brings up more threads and replies to the tone of "why are you people haters" and all the "this thread's gettin' closed" guys which makes more threads about hating appear and so on and so forth. I guess alot of it deals with how young people think and react.
As far as the coaster thing goes, all this preaching certain parks can get kind of funny sometimes. Unless you have your own car (and money, money, money) or your family is coaster freaks that can take whole summers off and have tons of cash for travel, looking at the ages of alot of the "haters" you call them, I cannot figure how they can compare this many rides to make the comments they do. Number one reason I can't read those "Arrow sucks" type posts, too much about them seems ungenuine.
This is what I am talking about! I heard stuff about "Mean Streak sucks" and "Disaster Transport sucks" before I went to Cedar Point. I had a ton of fun on both just because they ARE coasters and coasters are my favorite thing on earth. In COMPARISION I may like Millennium Force better than Corkscrew, but do I say Corkscrew sucks? No, I just say Millennium Force was incredible. If you think a coaster(s) sucks, then you are not a coaster enthusiasts. I personally hate hearing people complain about parks "only getting 1 coaster" or "not getting a coaster this year". If my home park (Carowinds) gets anything at all I am exremely happy, even if its a children's ride that I cannot go on. Most people also do not see that parks are not directing everything towards enthusiasts. Its a business. They want to make money and appeal to different groups of people. Instead of complaining about the few bad things, why not point out the good things?

It's not that people don't have the right to their opinions. I love to read opinions that differ from mine, I don't take it as a threat. But what's funny is some of the underlying "agendas" that people have when offering those opinions. "I hate Vekoma", yeah until X-Flight comes to your town, now it's a Vekoma love fest. "X looks like a gimmick", uhuh, until they decide to build one at your home park right?
Just ignore the noise, because it will not likely last more than 12 hours. Talking about it just legitimizes it and causes more.
