Coaster Genders

Did anyone ever notice how we all(coasterbuzzers) designate genders when we talk about coasters. While reading a post, I just realized this. Its quite funny. For example, I will use my hometown park, Dorney Park. When someone talks about Talon they refer to the coaster as a "her." When someone refers to Hercules they refer to the coaster as a "him." Did anyone else notice this little tid bit of info on the boards before. Sorry if someone posted about this already but I just noticed this and find it really funny yet at the same time very justifiable and "right," per say. What coasters are at your hometown/favorite park and what gender do you associate with it?

Millie and Maggie are two others...they are kind of like cars or boats. They are generally named after girls if they are given names.

I often times hear people refer to Superman:Ultimate Escape as "she", which makes sense I suppose because it is "SUE" but I hate that, It's SuperMAN.
Just wondering, does Cornball sound like a guy or a girl to you? Sometimes it just depends on who calls it, but I don't really associate genders with coasters (except, I do consider wood and steel genders).

What is it Lassie? Did Timmy fall down the well again? Rough. Did Mr. Wilson have a heart attack? Rough. Is the drug dealer here for his money? Rough Rough. RUN!

I really don't know about that one. It's supposed to be a train...trains can be named either male or female. But I'd say that it would be a he.

I'm with Raging Rider - I usually just refer to them as an "it" :)

As for CornBall, I'd think male if I was associating it with a gender.

If you refer to coasters as an "it" you can't go wrong!

I wonder what Son of Beast would be?? a she right??

Coaster Count:122
Favorate steel: Millennium Force
Favorate Wooden: The Beast

Or the obvious ones like Medusa (she), Batman (he) Superman (he), Maggie(she), Millie (she). What about Whicked Twister?
He's a definate guy. ;)

nah, then it would've been "Twisted Whiskers"......lol...

To do most of the coaster in my homepark (to me), Nitro is a female, Batman the ride is a male, The chiller both sides are female, GASM male, Rollingthunder both males,Medusa female,Viper male, Skull mountain female, and runaway train is Pat, (just kidding male)
