Coaster EXT

I was wondering if Geauga Lake was having Coaster EXT this year, I saw the poster for coastermania, but not for CoasterEXT. I was wondering if anyone had any information on CoasterEXT.

Yes, I think it was mentioned at No-Coaster.
The flyer is on the ACE website:

will coasterbuzz club members be able to get in with their club membership?

Is it just me, or is having an event like that the day after CoasterMania absolutely INSANE?
Well, people might be tired, but with the sheer number of enthusiasts that come in for CoasterMania, having an event just down the road during the same weekend makes a lot of sense to me.

pkidelirium -- So what would you call a week's worth of back to back Morning and NIght ERT and not even at the same park?

Suck it up! It's all in good fun. :)

All I have to say about this is, I hope you're right Greg. Last year there was barely 80 people who showed. GL felt it was because of the short notice but I honestly felt/feel to have the event the day after CM may not be such a great idea.

If you're the typical CM freak (me!) your day starts at 4am, and ends some time after midnight. Granted, the drive from CP to GL is cake but put yet another long fun filled day on top of CM and it can get rough. Not everyone gets a hotel room in or close to Sandusky for CM. I thought to have the event a different Friday in June would be better since then we could have CM, CoasterMadness and then CExt. But what do I know?

Last year my hubby and I were dragging at GL by PM ERT. This year we got smarter. We have someone to watch the horses for me and we reserved a hotel room so we can sneak in an afternoon nap and not have to worry about the long drive home that night. After CM then CExt, our drive home last year really sucked big time :(

But the flip side is that GL definitely learned from it's sister park how to throw an event. Last years event was non stop fun, the lunch was yummy and the Q&A with management was awesome. ERT was total ERT, we got to reride Dominator 10x, and they even added X-Flight ERT because someone (not me!) asked for it.

The best thing this season is that WWK will be open so we can hang out there some time between ERT times :)

I hope for GL more people will take advantage of this fun event, after all it is all about friends, food and the ERT, isn't it? :)

CUATGL! :)

I'd guess EXT is scheduled the day after CM to take advantage of people like me: known coaster enthusiasts who will be in the area that weekend. It's kind of like how McDonald's and Bruger King and Wendy's are so often found near each other: that's where the people buying hamburgers are.

I'm seriously thinking of going to CoasterMania, and if we do, we'll probably go to Geauga too. But we wouldn't travel to Ohio just for Geauga.

We typically go to Geauga Lake the day after CM anyway. We went last year but didn't do the event; the night ERT was just too late after the long day Friday. The park is never that busy - we spent a good portion of the day in the park and got plenty of rides on everything without the ERT.

To being an "us" for once - instead of a "them".
