Coaster designer thread?

I have a friend who is interested in pursuing a roller coaster designing career, and he came to me for advice (which will be to pursue something else). In any case, I'm 99% sure there was a thread on here about this once upon a time, but I can't find it in any search. Does anyone happen to have a link to that thread?

There are probably multiple threads. Use Google with "site:www.coasterbuzz.com" prepended to your own words.

www.thegravitygroup.com has a page about this and also mentions that you better be a engineer of more than just coasters to survive. It's a small world and a few people make many of the designs. They design houses, foundations and other things to stay busy.
