Coaster Con Question

Could someone explain how coastercon works? Thanks a million.

Before you criticize someone walk a mile in their shoes, then you can criticize them and you have their shoes :)

Well you go to a couple parks for about a whole week. I've only been to one coastercon and we spent 4 days at hersheypark, 2 days at dorney park, and we got williams grove closed down so just us coaster enthusiasts can go in the park. We got to stay there for about 5 hours. There was also an add-on day at Knoebel's but unfortunately i couldn't make it there. During coastercon we get a few free meals and plenty of ERT (Exclusive Ride Time) before and after the park is opened to the GP. Last year we also got free unlimited pop at hershey park. I'm hoping they do it again this year.

Its a really fun event. I love going to ride coasters and meet other coaster-crazed people. Even though it is kinda expensive I would still suggest going. It's worth it.

I want to know too!

ummm.....last year it was $200 for it being a late fee and at the time i was a non member. I think it went.....

Member: $150
Non-member: $175
Late registration (this being when you register after a certain date, not sure when it is tho)
Member: $175
Non-member $200

At www.aceonline.org they have info. They usually post the flyer on the site and i'm waiting for them to do that. It should be soon and then you'll probably have all the info you need.

Really, they used to try to keep costs under/around $100 for events, but the parks have gone above and beyond and have embrACEd us as much as we embrace their rides....really when you think about how much it costs them to stay open late, or open early, (and often times feed us and have other "gifts"...:)), and the number of attendees, I don't think parks really make anything at all off the events - but they DO get tons of free publicity! And with All-Enthusiast ERT, the ops get pumped, the trains have everyone cheering, slapping hands if we're lucky, the rides run with little/no brakes....I just can't put on price on THAT...see you at some future event!...:)

Just so it's mentioned, this year's con is at Magic Mountain, Knott's, and Adventure City, June 16-June 21. Flyers for the Con should be coming out soon.

I couldn't have said it better. Its great during ERT cause everyone is cheering and you get time with yer fellow enthusiasts. And us enthusiasts are like walking advertisements. So the park does get a lot of publicity.
