Coaster Celebration at Great Adventure

Hey guys, Does anyone have any comments/experiences on this event from past years? We are considering planning for this event and I was just wondering if it was worth it. The SFGA site states 2 hours of ERT I believe. I was just wondering if in the past this was in the morning or at night. I was under the impression that in the past, they had both morning and evening ERT so I wonder if true, if that has changed. Night rides on El Toro and Nitro are what I would be looking for. I would appreciate any thoughts, thanks.

Hmmm, another event to consider. Well I "NEED" to check out El Toro and J2, so this might be a good time to return to Jersey. :)

Last year there was am/pm ert. The event is worth checking out.

In past years, my favorite parts of the day were not only the am/pm ERT, but the tours behind the scenes at the coasters. My favorite memory was when I did the Batman:TR/Batman/Robin: The Chiller tour and boxes clearly marked with B&M's company shipping labels were in the open with the huge bolts and a "no comment" was all the tour guide would say. That was months before Nitro was officially announced, and seeing the Chiller launch from under the station is truly an awesome sight.

Chilla is da BOMB!

Here's hoping that the new commitment to customer service includes running both sides on a regular basis...maybe SnyderCo has a new supplier for LIMs? ;)

Oh, and Matt, if you're in NJ anyway, you MUST go to the shore - Morey's is *special*....

...and there's credit-ho stops ALL the way down the coast... ;)

At Eastcoaster, it was stated that sorry Batman side didn't run last season, when they said it would, but they are trying really hard to make sure it runs this season.

I have been to every CC since they started in 97 except 2yrs ago when they didn't have one for some reason. Last yr ERT on KK in the morning was great, but I love night ERT on Nitro when you can just stay on until your tired of riding. They stopped the behind the scene tours like 3yrs ago, I was glad I got to do them all. I cant wait until this years with ERT on ET and KK

Somehow the acronym ET for the new giant wooden coaster seems....wrong... ;)

Hey, it's Intamin!

Thanks for the feedback everyone and it will help our plans. Where has the flyer/itinerary become available? I was hoping someone would say Nighttime Nitro ERT and El Toro ERT day or night! Are crowds manageable during ERT for anyone who has attended?
I got a flyer at Eastcoaster for it but it doesn't give times for the ERT or rides other than El Toro that will have ERT.

When is the event and where is the flyer?

Hopefully it will be 2 hours of night ERT. Personally, I prefer to sleep in and not get up at 6am to go ride roller coasters, stay at the park all day long and then have more ERT until midnight. The late night ERT is much more enjoyable when you're not dead tired and have a headache from a lack of sleep.

My first Coaster Con was at Kennywood back in '91. We would have ERT from about 9am -11am, then night ERT from about midnight to 2am all week long! An afternoon nap at the hotel was a must. *** Edited 2/8/2006 7:59:36 PM UTC by Acoustic Viscosity***

:-P

I am planning on head back to NJ sometime this summer, and nighttime ERT would be supa-fantastic, but I think a couple of night rides on a regular weeknight might be a better choice for me. I was hoping to catch El Toro when I head back to Princeton for a conference in late April, but it doesn't look like it'll be open.
