Closing weekend SFGAdv

I was at SFGAdv on Thursday, September 1st. The park was unbearably busy and Kingda Krap was closed :( .

8.3 has the right idea. Stay away from SFGAdv.

I don't see why the place gets so busy. Everyone who the park has ever pissed off should boycott it like me. Will SOMEONE build another park nearby to compete with this "monopoly"?

I'm sorry; was that another one of my anti-SFGAdv rants again? It really is a nice park.

Dorney's only a little over an hour away, and a much nicer park IMO.

dex: the truth of the matter is, SFGAdv is simply the most intriguing park in the area. Now, I personally think that Hershey is the *best* park in the area (perhaps the country), but there is no way a coaster/ride lover cannot be attracted to GAdv. It appears to have everything one would want in an amusement park. And, at least in my case, there has never been the horrible customer service. Granted, it wasnt Disney service, but it was nothing out of line with pretty much anywhere you go (a sad reflection of our society I know...)

Plus, it was my personal experience that the actual ride operations were just a few notches below Disney and on par with Cedar Point. When you have what 30million people to draw from, it's not that hard to find people to give the park a shot every few years.

2Hostyl, The park is intriguing, I agree. That's why I have such a problem with it. I just can't win when I go, because the place is unbearablly packed. It would be the coolest park in the world if it wasn't so packed all of the time, but I guess I have to understand that the crowds (and the money they bring) are why the park has so much to offer in the first place.

I really disagree with you about ride operations being level with CP (respectfully, of course). CP would have found a way to get both side of Chiller running together. CP would run more than one train on Superman, RT, and the others on very busy days. CP would have encouraged the ride opps to hustle to get the trains out of the station.

Like you, I have never had horrible customer service at SFGAdv as well. The park was very pretty this year, and very clean. I felt safe because security booths were placed throughout the park. I didn't see much line jumping. The food was not bad.

It's not the best value for the money, imho. My time and money are important to me. Paying $90 to get into SF including parking and a Q-Bot, and driving 4 hours there and 4 hours back is a lot to deal with. To me It wasn't worth it.

It's not hatred and anger. It's disappointment and regret. I really wish it were different.

This weekend will most likely be packed. It's the last weekend for fright fest and the weather is going to be nice compared to last weekend. I would suggest getting there early enough to beat the crowd when they drop the ropes. Since most people here in NYC want to ride Kingda Ka before the next season and get a taste of Fright Fest, I predict it to be a crazy closing weekend!

The future is in your hands!
