Closest Clones

Well if we're going to get into flat rides, you could get real technical and say pre-TTD, Dodgem 1 and Dodgem 2 at Cedar Point were probably less than a mile apart ;)

Next we'll be claiming racing roller coasters and each wheel of double Ferris wheels as clones. Yeesh!

They have to at least be in separate parks, no?

-'Playa

The CPlaya 100--6 days, 9 parks, 47 coasters, 2037 miles and a winner.....LoCoSuMo.

Krazy and Chitown are right, it's the Little Dippers. Unless, of course, mirror image coasters are discounted, which they shouldn't.
23 miles between the Flitzer at Playland, Ocean City NJ and the Flitzer at Morey's... that's pretty damn close.
How about the wooden coasters of Coney Island (NY)? They were all in competition with each other, and probably a mile or so apart!

Lesourdsville's "Little Dipper" and Fantasy Farm's "Kiddie Coaster" overlapped by several years and the parks were next door to each other. Nearly identical although Lesourdsville's is a Herschel and FF's was a Schiff.

How close is Great Escape to SFNE? I was under the impression that it's a multi-hour drive.

SFNE is about 2 hours from GE, if you stick relativly close to the speed limit.
Funtown USA's Galaxy coaster in Saco ME and Palace Playland's Galaxi Coaster in at Palace Playland in Old Orchard Beach ME are less than 10 miles apart. Main difference is... Palace Playland runs theirs with 2 cars connected together... Funtown runs individual cars.

Half of the people surveyed agree, half disagree and another half are unsure.

Coasterpunk, I bet the "GP" can tell the difference between the mouse that stinks (Dorney's), and the one that rocks (Hershey's). I know I can.

More similar because they are more of a unique. Yeah that V2, it sits on a small footprint, with feet dangling seats suspended below the steel track work, with those loopy "turns." It also goes out and comes back, goes out and comes back. OH MY GOD IT IS JUST LIKE TOP GUN AND KONG!

I know people don't talk while doing this but it is hilarious to see the look on peoples face when a train launches on Dragster. People will be walking and they'll just stop and stare.

Oh man, you wouldn't believe how many times I've heard it called King Kong. :)

And on a side note, there are a damn lot of Boomerangs in Texas.

Since when is a damn lot 2? New York has 2, California has 2, and Louisiana has 2 as well. I have no life...

^I can see a new thread forming already, "Highest concentration of one clone in a state" ;)

Whenever you can ride a roller coaster and experience 15 spots of intense airtime, you know you're on a good coaster. (see: Phoenix)

Have you ever seen the line for Dorney's Wild Mouse? If they think it stinks, they have no problem waiting in line to ride it! :)

If I say it stinks, it stinks. Don't you get it already? ;)
I waited 1 hour for that ride... Another reason it lines up is probably due to a different loading system than Hershey's. Speaking of which, is Hersheypark's Wild Mouse the only wild mouse with a moving load/unload sequence? (think Log Flume)

All I'm saying is that it can't be that bad a ride if people are willing to wait so long for it... after all, its wait is four times longer than the one for Hercules!
