There are no guarantees. You'll just have to go, and see what's up. Count on some rehab somewhere....

Don't get your hopes up for X, so if it is open it will be a treat. There have been some indicators it might have some extended downtime in the near future.

Have a blast!

S:TE

Flashback

Deja Vu

Those are for sure closed here are others that may be closed:

Ninja(has to be 60 degrees or above for it to be open)

Scream!(it has had some problems, but I think those have been sorted out so look for it to be most likely open.)

S:TE opens in June...ahmm lets see Flashback opens god knows when and Deja Vu is scheduled to open in 2-3 weeks(this is the comment where I shall recieve contradictions from others) Ninja?? Its raining so i dunno...Scream, yea ok that problem was like 2 months ago so your good... and to the guy up there who said having X open as a treat and having an extended ride downtime in the future???....(insert awkward silence here) mmkay, uh, X is open every time the park is. We have a new policy where we constantly need to run two trains every day (only X) aaand the weird thing youll see is that there is a train missing cause its going into rehab(hence the parts and seats under the track)mmmm...thats about it.
Scream! vallied this past weekend and it's up and running now. Flashback usually opens up again around this time of the year, and a few flatrides and the SkyTower will be down.
When was the last time that the SkyTower was actually open?
I don't think anyone here would know the exact answer, but the last reported incident where someone was able to report it being in operation was when Déjà Vu was under construction. Meaning mid-late 2001.
You're kidding. That's crazy. What possible excuse could they have?

Wow, you mean the skytower was open that recently? I noticed a year or two ago that the elevator on it was moving, but it was still closed. I had just assumed that some maintenance crews were heading up and down it.

Lnknprk4eva03: Wait, X is running two trains consistently now? I haven't seen it run two trains for *months*, but I haven't been back to the park since November. As much as I love SFMM and only live 15 minutes away, I just haven't been going or had any desire to go after my past few experiences at the park. If X is actually running two trains, I might actually renew my season pass and head down there. As is, I'm not particularly keen on going to the park on a day where the first section of the parking lot is barely full, yet there's hour+ waits for every ride.

you know...i can say i never been in the the Sky Tower...i was always scared it was gonna break down...you know its supposed to be red right? the orange discoloration/rust makes me nervous...hehe

what is it like up there? i mean is it indoors or just open with a fence?

...and such

It's indoors, with windows and air conditioning.

First time I went to SFMM, it was closed. The second time, it was the only thing open that didn't have 2-hour-plus lines.

Last time I looked, it was still red to me - a dark hue, just not bright cherry red. Maybe you need your eyes checked...orange?

I did indeed ride the Sky Tower in early 2001. I got some shots of X being built, and Deja Vu which was still getting it's queue worked on. However, the hard drive that those pix were on crashed, so I can't prove it.

Oh, and their "excuse" is just a sign in front of the entrance that states it is temporarily closed do to necessary improvements. (if anyone knows the exact verbage, feel free to post) There is another one at each of the Metro stations.

In the meantime, please enjoy "The Orient Express."

Pass da' sizzrup, bro!

Lol.....I long for the days where there was a Skytower, train, monorail, incline, skyride, etc. I don't care how many rollercoasters you have, the little things can make the park. No, I'm not doing CP vs. SFMM, but my mom (a non-rider) still likes going to CP because she can ride the train, Giant Wheel, Skyride, Boat ride, etc. Or PKI because of Scooby Doo, the Tower, train, etc. (Man does she miss the safari though!) When she went to SFMM there wasn't a single thing she rode :( Not bashing, just constructive criticism that those non-major rides do make a difference.

Yea, its a new rule from like 3-4 weeks ago. And its only because of the new budget and stuff. Youll notice a lack of employees in the X station.

I had no idea that Scream had vallied. Maybe it because I dont associate and try not to pay attention to that ride. After I lost my certification to Scream because of an idiot, I tried to stay away, hmm thats crazy, looks like theyre gonn havta re-word some of the sentences in the Scream manual.

Im suprised no ones said, contradicted, or anything about Deja Vu opening in 2-3 weeks...hmm...Skytower was fun cleaning. Throwing dead birds off is funny, hahaha.
