Some may call the area tacky, or touristy... I call it pure bliss.

Clifton Hill has always had some different attractions... most of them museums of the sort, along with a few rides including the WWE Zamperla drop tower, a MGM Pink Panther Balloon Race & a number of 4D Motion Theater rides.

If anyone is fimilar with the area, they also have a huge indoor arcade called "Great Canadian Midway". The owners of the arcade own the land behind there which stretches for a number of acres.

The article (along with a Buffalo News article I cannot find on-line) states that it has been approved already & have already outlined what they want to put in (the link has a artists rendering of what it'll look like). Among other things, the park will have the following:
> A 175 year-round ferris wheel (indoor cabins)
> Two roller coasters
--- One with a 60' height (probably a wild mouse)
--- One with a 101' height
> A revolving 72' tall ride
> A 28-story hotel
--- has an indoor waterpark (this will be the THIRD in the area opening up in a 5 mile radius).
--- will also have an outdoor waterpark.

There were very few objections to the whole proposal & was mentioned that really, only the ferris wheel would be seen throughout the skyline, but the rides would not be visable from the street by the falls due to the trees & surrounding landscaping.

Sounds like a nice addition for the area.
Do you think it's too tacky, or does this just show more potential for the area?

Sounds like something I'd go and visit - so uh, it's great for the area!

Who would go and do something like that? ;)

I think the most interesting thing was the timeline of 5 to 10 years for total completion of the project with the ferris wheel being done next year.
