The founder of Cliff's Amusement Park, Cliff Hammond, has died at age 97. Hammond started the amusement park in 1959, as Uncle Cliff’s Kiddieland, with just a go-kart track on east Lomas Boulevard. In 1963 Cliff and Zella Hammond moved it to a 6.3-acre area near Osuna Boulevard and started Uncle Cliff’s. In the 1990s, the name was changed to simply Cliff’s.
