Cleveland Trip part 2 SFWoA 5-31

Associated parks:
None

This was my first time to the park. I heard bad things about the park, but I only heard those bad things coming from Saturday trips, which we avoided. This park is clean like Cedar Point, but the employees weren't as kind, and the ride operators and attendants were unmotivated and dragging. The park was not crowded at all today, biggest wait was X-Flight, which was over an hour and that was because of the one train operation and it broke down for over a half hour, some of the rides broke down throughout the day, but not for a long period of time. They didn't nearly have as many ride attendants as Cedar Point, and the loading times weren't as quick. I love the boardwalk at this park, it has an amazing view on the park, especially at sunset. There were no waits after 8:00, and throughout the day, the lines were very short. Now on to the reviews

X-Flight +9- my second lye down, I love these, especially at the top of the drop when you turn facing the ground, the corkscrews on this were a lot tighter than the one's on Stealth, making it seem more like a double barrel roll, plus the helix at the end was pretty intense, and actually made a difference at making this not seem like a short ride, it beats out Stealth. 3 rides.

Superman +9- my 3rd impulse, I can't get enough of these, when I went to Marine World, the halt on the back spike wasn't working so this was new to me, my dad didn't expect the stop, so it was a surprise for him, very intense and fun. 3 rides, no wait any time.

Batman +8- my second floorless, my other is Medusa west, this has a tighter layout than Medusa, and seems more intense, both have amazingly large loops, Medusa has a better first drop, sinse I'm a fan of straight drops, but Batman's is very steep and intense, this ride is very twisty, which I love. Front seat on this is a must, although I did it at night and got sprayed in the face by the lake's bugs. 3 rides with 1 five minute wait, and 2 zero minute waits.

The Villian +8- very long and big. Would be better with wooden supports though. This ride reminds me of Ghostrider with less turns and more hills. Has some very awesome surprises, nice laterals, great headchoppers and a good amount of airtime, I love good wooden coasters. 3 rides with one 15 minute wait and 2 zero minute waits.

Serial Thriller +7- my 3rd SLC suspended, although these are very overcloned and a little bumpy, I love the speed and layout of these rides, also very intense and no mid-course brakes. I felt no pain as well. 2 rides with 1 10 minute wait and 1 zero minute wait.

Big Dipper +8- I love this ride, no seatbelt or lap bar, just the old style of the bar a foot over your lap, padded seats with no seat divider. I was out of my seat more than I was in it, I was slammed into my partner numerous of times as well, nice out and back design, very tradtional, nothing but fun on this ride. 1 ride 5 minute wait.

Raging Wolf Bobs +6- Not nearly as bad as I expected, people make this coaster seem a lot worse than it is, the roughness isn't bad, it's just like any other wooden coaster, it does have some great moments, it's just not top wooden material, it's still fun though. 1 ride 0 minute wait.

Overall I enjoyed the park, it seemed like I came at the right time of the year when crowds are very light with the kids still in school, and I hope to come back some day.

what does that have to do with the overall feel of the ride?

In all honesty, all wood coasters and wood coasters with steel supports *do* feel different to me.

The all wood structures seem to have some sort of give to them that the steel counterparts don't. Sometimes the steel structured woodies feel more "sterile" I guess you could say.

Still though, CCI makes incredible coasters no matter what material the structure is. We just rode SEVEN CCI's in three days this weekend! What an awesome trip.
