Clementon Opening?

When does Clementon Park open this year (for the season, not hourly)? I'm curious as it'd be a nice side trip from CBCon for a few laps on Tsunami...errr, J2.

Their website still hasn't been updated from last year. I called and got a recording with no one wanting to answer.

After a little looking around I found that in previous years it seemed to be Memorial Day weekend, but was wondering if that's accurate or if this year is the same.

Anyone nearby know when the park opens this year? Just trying to do a little trip planning. :)

I would HIGHLY suggest getting to Clementon early in the season....a summer's heat is NOT going to help the ride out at all, and barring a *spectacular* job of maintenance, I predict a precipitous decline in the ratings of the ride...just my nickel's worth...;)

Ditto. Get there ASAP, and ride Tsunami (I will never be able to call it Jack Rabbitt) as many times as you can before it starts sucking. lol.

I'm trying to get there! I need to know if they'll be open the weekend before Memorial Day and the park is doing everything in their power not to let me know.

But if I'm interested in the 2005 Holdiay Season Pass special or their 2004 Halloween operating hours, then their site is very useful. :)

I've been wondering the same thing and the closest info I've found is from the ACE New Jersey website. http://home.netcom.com/~dooley7/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderfiles/parkinfo2005.pdf
All they have is opens late May. Hopefully they will update the website at some point soon.
ok first things first. We open to the public Memorial day weekend. Second before everyone says anything about maintenance, the wood company that did all the wood work is back. They have already started ripping up track to get re worked because it didnt seem to get done to spec the first time! The bottom of the first drop all the way up to and over the second hill is being redone! And we all know that second hill was a doozy! the are doing some work on the turnaround and the helix. we all noticed how the cars had alot of play on the track and they are fixing that so it is not as bumpy. it should be even better. As of right now i havent heard anything about any braking or adjustments of that nature for J2. Also as a bit of scenery has been fixed. Nothing spectacular but the fountain at the bottom of the first drop will be working for this year. we just repiped the wholething and tested it today to ensure no leaks.

big things for 2008-2010!
Good news? Thanks for the info on the park opening and maintenance report on the coaster. Bad news? You actually confirmed the crappy new name change. I was still holding out hope that when they finally updated the website, it was going to turn out to be a big mistake. Oh well.
yeah the name has changed it is my sad duty to OFFICIALLY report. There is no chance this is a mistake.

Jswiga, thanks for the reports. I'll try to get by again this year, that coaster is *insanely intense*....the SOUND of that thing at night, on the lake, was awesome. I had NO prblems at all with roughness, but the POWER was off the hook. Sadly, got there too late for any good pics of the coaster/park...

Did not mean to imply that it wasn't going to GET maintenance, just that wooden coasters THAT crazy (with a mid-ride helix no less) tend to eat up trackwork...that thing with Gersties would be a BRUTAL beating, LOL...;)

Thanks for the info.

No Tsunami for me in May. Maybe later in the season.

Yeah, that second hill was a bit rough. On one of my rides I had the misfortune of having a twisted seatbelt. (not sure if it's ever happened to you...twisted seatbelts are like steel cables) Anyway, when we went over that 2nd hill the insano-ejector-lateral G's ripped me out of my seat and the seatbelt dug into my waist....HARD!. Felt really good! :D

Other than that it is an absolutely awesome coaster and I'm glad to hear you guys are putting some more work into it. That helix with the crazy headchopper leading into is one of my favorite sections on ANY coaster. I will definitely be there a couple times this season to ride Tsunami. ;)
