Parked next to Round Up, and then walked along driveway to the hotel. Entered to a welcome committee of 4 folks with brochures, program guides, candy canes, etc.
Toured the 100 trees, and took notice of the several decorated to park style themeing. Purchased a 2007 calander. $6 with tax.
Dinner in Elizabeth's. Had loaded tater skins, salad, and NY strip steak. Suprisingly good. Serivce was fast, food was hot, and the whole joint was decorated to the max. Great seats closest to the lake. 8/10. $34 for 2 people.
No sleigh ride this year, but with light crowds at 530pm, this is the time to ride. Horses were behaved this year, unlike last year when they called me a name for not tipping enough.
I must say the lift hill on the Blue Streak outlined in racer lights looked great. I walked the midway with my old boss, and the park is as pleasant and tranquill as it is in January when you can hear snow fall.
I suggest everyone who can go and visit. They need the money, and it is a great time, with the music, the scents in the hotel, the lights. Its quite fascinating to see people walking on the boardwalk pointing out the geese, or stopping for pictures with Hotel Conneaut in the background.
I love this park. 9/10!
I'll be taking 2 of the kids, age 8 and 13, there next weekend, Saturday 12/16. I've never been there for the Christmas event. How much are the sleigh rides? We had a great time at CLP our 2 summer trips, plus the Fall PumpkinFest.
I hope the park will re-open for 2007, cause it is a unique experience.
AJ, What's that supposed to mean?
