Choices

Well, I have one more park trip planned for the summer, but the problem is, I do not know which park to choose. I can either go to Kennywood or Indiana Beach. I have not been to either park as of yet, so I still do not know which park to choose. Can someone help me with my decision? Any help would truely be appreciated.

Heads its IB... Tails its Kennywood.

And the toss... Heads

Have fun at IB.

(why do people have to make everything so darned difficult now days?)

Seriously though...

The two parks are 7 hours apart. I just checked on your profile details and see you list Louisville as your location.

Checking mapquest... Louisville to Monticello IN is 3+ hours.... Louisville to West Mifflin PA is 6-7 hours.

So...

Planning a day trip? Go to IB.

Planning more than a day trip? Go to Kennywood.

From Louisville I wouldn't attempt Kennywood in a single day... unless you don't mind a 21 hour day (7hrs to get to Kennywood, 7 hrs at Kennywood, 7 hrs driving home from Kennywood)

Kennywood!!!

Thanks,

Ever hear of choices where there is no right answer? Well this is the opposite of that.
Good grief.

See my response to the similar thread yesterday...

DragsterForce - the problem with asking these kinds of questions is many:

1] the Kennywood fans will obviously suggest Kennywood.

2] the IB fans will obviously suggest IB.

3] the rest of us know NOTHING about you. Are you travelling alone or with a group? Is this a day trip or multi-day? What kind of trip can you afford? Do you like wooden coasters or big steel thrillers? Do you like flat rides? How about water rides? Theme parks or traditional parks?

I can blindly give you an answer but it will be based on the kind of experince I enjoy. How would I know if its the best answer for YOU, based on YOUR wants and needs and what you enjoy?

But all is not lost. I can definitely help you with your decision in three easy steps!

1] click here. Read.

2] click here. Read.

3] Check for trip reports on IB and Kennywood here at CB and on other sites and newsgroups. I'll even list a few for you:

Kennywood, Indiana Beach, Kennywood, Indiana Beach, Kennywood, Kennywood, Indiana Beach,

4] make informed decision for yourself based on what YOUR needs and likes are.

See how easy that was? ;)

While I agree that going to the park websites is a good place to start, issues like this are exactly why we post trip reports.

You're correct...I should have included that as step 3. Post is edited...thanks, Rav.
And got excited thinking that "Choices" was another new B&M being announced for next year ;)
See I am actually leaving from Cincinnati and it will be a weekend trip with my dad. But, thanks for the input, I will definately investigate the different parks and what they have to offer.

You're welcome! To be honest you really can't go wrong with either park...they're two of my favorites ;)
Thanks to Mamoosh, and his detailed instructions, I've decided to go to Kennywood before the summer is out.

Thanks Man!

Hard to go wrong with Kennywood. ;)

Classic woodies, a great steel hyper with an 'oh-so-wrong' ending [and I mean that in a good way], lots of fun flats [don't pass on the Kangaroo...more airtime on that puppy than most coasters!], cool enclosed spinning mouse, decent food, relaxing atmosphere.

Moosh summed it all up... It's hard to beat Kennywood, IMO.

Unless you're choosing between it and Knoebels ;)
Can we get the rundown on Knoebels, moosh?

Please in the future at least give us some kind of hint as to what you want a choice of in the topic title. It helps people narrow down what they want to read and saves them time.
I have never been to IB,but have been to Kennywood 3 times.Kennywood is a very nice park with some classic rides. You won,t be disaponted if you chose Kennywood.

In reality "or" threads are just "vs" threads worded another way, and they're against TOS. By asking people to help choose between parks you're setting up a "vs" situation.

Just my .02 cents.

Same with asking people for their top ten most addictive coasters....or something like that.
