A boy at the York, PA fair died after the roller coaster he was riding came to a sudden stop. He was originally treated by first aid, then transported to the hospital where he apparently underwent surgery. Details of the incident are unclear at this time.

- The parents of Matthew Potter, the 7 year old boy that died after riding the Flitzer coaster, are have filed a civil suit against Reithoffer Shows.
- Seeking undisclosed monetary damages for "wrongful death and survival action". They claim that the ride was not properly maintained, inspected, design and construct the coaster and violating the Amusement Ride Inpection act. They also are claiming that the ride did not have proper restraints, the operators were not properly trained, and there was not a warning of possible risk of harm.
- York County DA does not want to discuss any potential criminal charges. He said you have to prove "gross negligence" and at this point there are too many unknowns.
