What a beautiful piece. A shame this park was lost- it was clearly one of the greatest parks of all time... probably the Cedar Point of its time as far as sheer number of rides and coasters is concerned. I particularly liked that panorama shot of the park... sweet.

So sad...what's the ETA on a time machine? Anyone?
I'm working on one, but, ummm... it might be awhile.
Great article, but the 3rd picture is captioned as "The Bobs" while this is actually a picture of the Fireball. It's funny because the picture in the actual newspaper article was correctly labeled.

Great article and pics. The park had a beautiful skyline. Check out those Bobs trains! Mill. Flyers on Geauga's version would be a fitting tribute. :) And that parachute tower is amazing.......... I'm thinking toothpicks here!

I'll be sure to ride the carousel when I visit SFOG this year.

Wait a minute Arrow Guy, toothpicks are my building obsession. but I'll let you borrow a few of my leftover boxes from the Thriller!! ;)

I wish I could have visited Riverview myself. Another park that was sold out of greed for ROI. What a shame it isn't around today. One of the reasons I will always ride that beautiful carousel at SFoG everytime I visit Atlanta is because of the history behind that machine. Oh the stories that ride could tell if it could talk.
