Army Rangers lead the way

You said it. The article said it will open on Friday. It's top speed of 107mph/172kmh has just hit home. That is fast! 47.8m/s or 157fps. Down under the max freeway speed limit is just 110kmh (68mph) in comparison. What is it in the US? 70mph?

Damn, that would be exhilarating to weigh nothing after the launch. (The track dips down gently before the gargantuan turn.)

Thanks for the link supe!

States set their own speed limits here in the U.S.  Most are 65mph, a few are 55mph, a few are 70 or 75.  And in one state, there is no speed limit on the interstate...you can drive as fast as is "prudent."

Of course, I don't think my car would even go 107!

You can't spell "dishonorable" without "honorable."

How tall is Mt Fuji?
That is one fast coaster.

How quickly does it get up to speed?

"I'll bet that thing hits 5 Gs going through that loop.....faaar ooouut!"
Sorry for the stupidity, but which state has no speed limit on freeways?  Is it Montana?  If it is, I may have heard that before. . . ;)
Yeah Montana has no real set speed limit.  However they aren't any states that have a speed limit of 55 on the interstates.

Just wait till next year!

Valleyfair, It is only during daylight hours though.

Dodonpa gets up in just under 2 secs.  That is moving.  Have you seen the video?  Holy cow......I get to ride it next year....:)

Steelboy, Fuji is just over 3,776 meters high.  That is over 12,000 feet. (I believe).

Thanks nasai for the information on Fuji.
There are two states that have no speed limits in ths US that I know of. I forgot where but My uncle's Rig only ran about 100mph with 40 tons of load on the back
Where can the video be found?

I was just thinking about the same thing. I tried an image search on google & found all kinds of good pictures. Especially after trying out the XLC, it appears nothing less than amazing. It looks like such a bigger ride than her little sister. The trees, the turn, the dip, the tunnels.......

and the to top speed time is the same as Hypersonic, right? Only 20mph faster:).

BTW, the 55mph speed limits on the interstates sucked, I'm glad some limits have gone up the last ten years:).

This ride does not look over 3000 feet.  Not even close.  That is Alpengiests size.  And the actual speed got up to 110 mph.  3 mph faster than the design speed.
Are Japaniese(sp?) parks open all year round?

8 dollars a person    Isnt that expensive
Futuredesigner - It's 3900 feet alright. I've seen it with my own eyes. It covers a lot of ground.
B&M Rocks....when I was at Fujikyu-Highland, most people just bought the pay one price ticket. It saves lots of money when you rack up rides on Fujiyama and Dodonpa. Their only attraction you have to pay for is their world famous haunted hospital walkthrough. Man, I got to get around to writing a trip report about that. It blew my mind!

Jeff, you said it!  That thing is WEIRD!  Things are looking good to get over to Japan in spring this coming year.  I will let you know.  What is interesting about Japanese parks is the option to pay one price or go in and pay as you go.  Very cool for the families with one or two people who are terrified of rides, but want to spend the day together.
