Chat with Jeff Siebert tonight

I noticed that PKI Unlimited rescheduled their chat with the park's PR rep Jeff Siebert for 6:00 PM tonight since they were having server troubles last weekend. Maybe we'll find out some more information about this year's new attractions and some unsolved mysteries from the past. ;)

Hopefully everything goes well this time and I can't wait to hear what Mr. Siebert has to say!

EDIT: the link is http://www.pkiunlimited.com for those who didn't know.

Chat is finished and we found out...

-Oktoberfest Gardens is being rethemed around Forrest Gump and will have a bar in the back. I think Oktoberfest has had some improvements as well. He said there will be two more new restaurants at PKI (my guesses are the rumored Chinese restaurant replacing All-Star Cafe and a Subway restaurant coming).

-PKI has completely redone the first major turn after the drop on The Beast in order to handle high speeds better and the ride has been retracked.

-Son of Beast has received new restraints which will hopefully be much more comfortable. It should be open opening day and it doesn't have new tunnels this season...

-The Beast and SOB clearing Jeff was talking about at the end of last season was him just messing around. :)

-Scooby looks very nice so far and Jeff says the ride itself is incredible and is set to open with the park. Edit (new link): http://www.pkiunlimited.com/scooby1.php

-Delirium (Huss Giant Frisbee) and SpongeBob 3-D (F/X Theatre film) are the two other new for 2003 rides, which most of us know about. SpongeBob will not open until May, but Delirium is set to open with the park.

-The Action Zone pathway has been widened and the entrance to Delirium is location on the direct right side of the path and the queue will go around back of the ride. I think it will be a covered queue.

-Top Gun will be back to two train operation.

-The new PKI book will be available at the park.

-There was mention of a "focus" on theming for TRTR, FOF, and Adventure Express, but I don't know what this means.

-Marquee/message board PKI sign in the front of the park, the fountains, and other things around the park have been rehabbed/overhauled or have aesthetic improvements. The PKI logo on the sign hasn't been changed.

That's all I can remember right now, but it sounds like this will be a great season!

After seeing those exterior photos of Scooby Doo Jeff sent, I cannot WAIT to ride it! Only 20 more days. ;)

One more thing you forgot to mention Danny is that Jeff said the PKI.com webmaster is currently trying to get several park webcams placed around the park for the website. He also hinted that there will be several attractions for 2004.

Thanks Aaron. I knew I would forget to mention some of the most important facts, lol.

I think some cameras will also be used for a possible video of the park as well, right? I don't listen to Jeff's sneaky comments about the park or future additions anymore. He could say PKI is getting dozens of additions for 2004 and then we wait and wait and here comes the toilet paper truck! He could keep doing that year after year... ;)

I'll address these by number, for my own convenience...;)

#1....SWEET....sounds like they'll be able to *trim the trims* on the first drop...PKI *does* listen to us...no wonder the park has such a great rep among enthusiasts...:)

#2...probably the most expensive coaster other than SD2K by this point, the park *never* stops trying to make Sonny a better ride. It's moving up in the rankings...no tunnels "THIS season"....hmmm, perhaps Jeff is talking with Miss Cleo again....;)....noticeable segue to...

#3...Jeff Siebert, "messing" with us...hard to believe...;). Paula's *runner-up* in terms of accessible PR reps....he'll assume her duties if for any reason....;)

#4....Scooby Doo...anybody know where Sally's offices are located, LOL....;)

#5 and #6....We'll talk to Danny about combining these two later (Hi Danny)...Delirium sounds like a pretty intense flat, and will definitely be satisfying for the thrillseekers. Now the question circulating around the buzz (vicious rumors only I assure you) is that SpongeBob's *delay* is due to his RUMORED involvement with the wife of a certain webmaster??? Could this BE??? Phone calls by a certain unnamed reporter (Clark Kent?) were not returned, but there were threats of a defamation lawsuit...ROFL, all in fun kids...

#7...Top Gun is no longer "in the weeds" in terms of capacity, and the trains needn't run in fear of being *pruned* any more...the ride IS much better with more greenery, but I understand they can't have US trimming the trees, it's just not safe....

#8....PKI is definitely following up with the theming! I'm sure that the improvements will be great, and them theming the COASTERS certainly doesn't hurt MY feelings one bit....w00t! Thanks for posting!

Hi Bill! Brent has already informed me that "more more" is better and I indeed lost my mind by combining (confining?!) SpongeBob and Delirium into a single comment area. I'm sure Jeff would have liked each of those rides to be mentioned in *several* comment areas. ;)

And no, Top Gun will not have floorless trains this year for every person that IMed me and may be getting ready to, lol. I'm not sure if PKI will be trimming the weeds though, Bill. That's a personal question if you ask me!

-Danny

Some of those weeds DO need trimmed, I cut my thumb on one on the final turn before the brakes. I guess that will teach me for having my hands in the air. I know someone will ask why I had my hands outside the car, so here goes: I didn't. They were very close to the edge, but I was still touching the restraint with my forearm. It was kinda cool though, talk about a "terrain" coaster... ;)
