How many of you would like to see a seperate channel just for coasters and americas thrill parks? Anyone?
It would be nice, but I don't think it would do very well.

"FEAR the Four!"
it would be great but i dont think there is that much info on it. you will surely run out of things to talk about after a while. but it would be nice to see like Discovery have all coaster shows on for a day or two from 12pm - 11pm

I'd watch the first 3 hours of it's existence. Then it would start repeating, and then a month later it would beome defunct.

Cyclops. 1900 feet of CCI goodness.
I feel the need, often, to see coasters on TV. Usually, when I find a show, I get bored with it. Sometimes, I want to see other rides than what they want to show. I hate seeing interactive rides on TV. As for there being a network related, MTV screwed up the music video(it's taken them a long time, but they've done it) so it's probally bad to have something good all the time. What I'm trying to say is that a public access(I hope I'm not giving away a million dollar idea:() or syndicated "special" a couple times a year would be great. Not like "Designing Fear" or any of that other stuff, but more like Popular Mechanics TV or something.
I think it could work, and it would be awesome, but there probably wouldn't be much an audience other then we few enthusiasts for it after a while. I mean hey, if they can have 3 golf channels, they can have one coaster channel.

Hey FloridaCoasterRider,
Nice Website !!
I agree, I think discovery channel should create such a network entitled the discovery amusements channel. After all discovery has a health related network as well as the animal planet network so why not try an all amusements all the time network.and at least the coverage of all the big parks can be fair and equal, thats the only thing I don't like about their specials they always cover only one or two parks, usually the same ones every time.
How bout the travel channel just puts better stuff on? It would probably have more coaster shows. That really drives me nuts, if I wanted to watch a thing on the travel channel about the indiginious people of the african country of (insert country) I'd watch the discovery channel or animal planet.
Too bad coasters and theme parks don't have too much news everyday... Either the show would have a lot of infomercials starting at 10 or a lot of reruns. There simply isn't enough content for an entire channel.

As someone who spent much of his career in television (because I'm so freakin' gorgeous), trust me when I say there isn't enough of a market for it.

Maybe something more broad, like Amusment Channel or Extreme Channel.

Live to have FUN!
Go Shamrocks!
Go Wolverines!
How about a weekly hour long show. It could have news, rumors, and other stuff. It could have a wooden & steel ride of the week, a little segment of viewer mail, it could have interviews with B&M, werner stengel, scwarchzacop (?), and tours of companies hq's. It could also have a park of the week where they go to a park and show the rides, themed areas, food places, hotels, and most importantly the theming of the rides. This would also open up an oppurtunity to show smaller parks that are underated, instead of the bigger parks that are always on, such as CP & SFMM. It could also have to do with announcements and ride openings. WOuldn't that be better than re-runs?

HurricaneGeauga- Just in case
I agree that the market for a thrill park channel just isn't there after the first few hours. But I like the idea of a weekly show, or an amusement channel that would cover amusement parks, theme parks, cruises, themed vacation ideas, that sort of thing, but that's really starting to look like the travel channel... Oh well, I'll settle for some great coaster/park shows, as long as I can remember when they're on!

I would love to host a show that would air once a week on the travel channel which talks about one amusement park per show in depth. That would be great fun!!!!

"who needs drugs when you have coasters...they're like a natural high"
Believe it or not, this is an idea that my wife and I have discussed over the years - a half-to-one hour look at a different park every week, maybe 13 in total, geared towards families making their travel/vacation plans. My wife co-owns a production company and writes/produces television shows, and went so far as to pitch the idea to one of her business partners, who felt there could very well be a market for it (i.e. on the Travel Channel or Outdoor Life Network); unfortunately, the other owner of the production company could not care less about the idea, and realistically they are far too busy with current projects to devote time to it.
But it's a great idea to play around with when we're in line for coasters on one of our road trips. It also makes travel expenses tax deductible - in theory, anyway ... :)
