Changes to JAWS at USF

Just wondering, what exactly has changed about this ride since it opened in 1990?

I had heard that Universal completely re-built the ride in 1993 to tone down the Violence in it.

I have also heard that it was a mechanical nightmare to operate, and was having Hydrolics problems, which made them re-design it.

Sorry I can't really be a help to this question because I've only consistently gone on the ride since about 94 or 95? As far as I can remember though there haven't been any major changes.

When the park first opened, many of the rides didn't work. Kong & Earthquake had a lot of problems, and Jaws was NEVER open. I remmeber they kept trying to operate it, but it wouldn't work.

Eventually they shut it down, gutted the whole ride, and re-opened it several years later. I remember they had to take down all the Jaws billboards on I-4 when it first closed. I never got to ride it in it's orginal form because it never really ran. Very few people did ride it.

I might very well be riding Jaws this time next week -- well, nearly. The park will be closed at this exact moment in seven days.

Anyway, is Jaws loud? The explosions, particularly, have me a bit concerned. In addition to disliking imperfect pancakes, I'm also somewhat terrified by sudden, loud noises.

No its the most quiet ride in the park, There are no explosions with lots of flames, no sharks poping up in random places nothing like that at all. its not jaws its Captin Jakes Amity boat tours.

I got on it in '90. It was fun. Got on Kong too. The only thing we didn't get to ride was Earthquake.
