changes to final Astroworld operating hours

Oh, the boycott is only until Bruke & Co are gone? Well, then, it may be over by the time the parks start opening for '06, depending on how things go.

Yeah, Gary Story and Kieran Burke are the ones who ruined the Houston park. Gary's already history and if someone else takes over for that criminal Burke I would give the chain another go. Still waiting for my proxy voting ballot for this.

But by and large, they aren't going to get a whole lot of Houstonians traveling to San Antonio or Dallas to visit the other parks. If you've already got a season pass for Houston then it's not unthinkable, but there aren't a whole lot of families that are going to pay to travel across the state (and its a big state) then pay admission to those parks as well. I have no idea what percentage of visitors to those two parks were season pass holders from Houston, but it's indisputably going to drop.

San Antonio is a good 200 miles from here and Dallas's further. I've hardly ever went to SeaWorld in San Antonio, even though I like the place a lot, because I never had a season pass to get me in like I did for Six Flags. However, since in 2006 I won't have one of those, if I happen to make it to San Antonio I'd probably choose SeaWorld over Fiesta Texas. It's been five years now since Fiesta got a big e-ticket attraction and it's sounding like their next one's going to be one of my least favorite rides from Astroworld (the Vekoma SLC).

Well said,

It may not seem like it but I strongly believe season pass sales in Houston will be near nill for SF's. We did not buy the passes for OT and FT, they were for AW.

We just visited the others because we already had a pass in. I would not pay the ticket price to get in.

AW's closure will effect OT and Fiesta. They are far drives especially with the gas prices.

Parking, food, gifts, etc. How much I don't know, but they will be impacted.
