Changes in Tomb Raider

OK, so as I rode Tomb Raider this past sunday, I noticed many things have changed on the ride, for the better in my opinion. I'm wondering if PKI was actually listening to this board, because many of the things that people didn't like about the ride have been fixed.

***********SPOILER**********

1.) They seem to be changing the lighting effects around in the antechamber to find something that works.

2.) The room with the Statue has changed the lighting effects, too. The lights never went completely dark anymore.

3.) The little velcro baggie in front of the seat now has clips. I guess the velcro wasn't strong enough.

4.) (The most important part) Two things have changed since opening day. First, it seems that we didn't hang over the lava as long anymore. Also, THERE'S NOW AN ENDING! The ride still seems to be the same, but instead of several seconds of darkness and nothing as the ride slowly lowers down, the whole room now lights up, and some audio is heard. After that, more fog effects, and the statue's eyes move a little bit. This makes a MUCH better ending, and the ride feels much more complete, since this extra time needed with centering the vehicle is now used to end the ride. It's a much better ride now, in my opinion.

I think it's great that PKI invests so much time into making sure the ride is a success, even by changing some of these many minute details.

Glad to hear that! IMO, PKI is the park that is always striving for perfection. :)

1) Interesting.....

2) It's less effective, but I think it's probably safer.

3) Those clips have been there since Day #2, anyway.

4) Sounds like the same 'ending' as the last time I rode it on the 14th. They had added one more flip to the program, but that was the day I counted 25 seconds in the lava scene vs. 17 seconds in the stalactite scene. Personally, I think the audio should cut in while the bridges are coming down; when last I rode all the action stopped and the lights returned to the loading setup as the ride parked and the bridges came down. That ought to happen as part of the show to make it slightly less anticlimactic.

Bah, that's the ending that I had last weekend. I still think it needs some real flipping action at the end to really make it complete. 15 seconds, that's all I'm asking for, 15 seconds. No big deal, give me that, and its perfect.
