CF's plans for next year

I was thinking since Knotts and Dorney will probably be getting flats for next year, and we know Cedar Point will get the Lighthouse Point expansion, what CF parks are more likely to get a major investment that may or may not be a coaster for next year? I would say Worlds of Fun and Michigan's Adventure would be likely candidates because they haven't received anything major in a few years. What do you all think?
Haven't we hashed through this enough?

Simple fact of the matter is that we won't know till we know. There is an entire thread devoted to what MIA may or may not get next year.

Cedar Fair runs quite a bit diferently then just handing out checks. The parks are run a lot more individually then say Six Flag's.

Magnum is right, Cedar Fair parks do run a lot more induvidually than Six Flags ones. When was the last time you saw a CF clone? I think the only thing close to a clone is the bird of prey series, but those aren't even the same coasters. Also, I've noticed that the theming is different at CF parks (there barely is any, but you know what I mean), but at a Six Flags park you have Movieville, and Frontier Western City. So you never really know what CF is going to do for their parks. Also, I think I dissed my homepark Great Adventure in this one, but you're still the best next to Cedar Point!
I know this topic will probably be closed, but I can't contain myself. Yes, I admit it, I'm a Cedar Fair fan boy and proud of it! I won't go into detail too much, but the only parks that are big in question right now are Michigan's Adventure and Worlds of Fun. I don't even want to list all the options for these two parks. It seems Cedar Fair is announcing things a little earlier this year. I can't wait!

When was the last time I saw a CF clone? While not being exact clones, the Morgan hypers are pretty close (well, I guess wild thing is out there, but even Magnum has a pretty similar layout).

Andy, how many ways can you make an out and back hyper? Hell even Apollo and Nitro, heck even Shivering Timbers aren't all that different from Magnum which they are ALL really based on.

Boomerang at Worlds of Fun in 2000. Probably the most obvious one ;)

As for what's already announced so far - we have the floorless Top Spin, Rip Tide, going in at Knott's and a "major new coaster in late 2004" to follow.

Then there's Dorney Park's Hercules' removal and the announcement of a 2005 debut of a Floorless B&M.

And let's not forget that DP is supposedly announcing their 2004 attractions "soon".

Screamscape says that CP's Soak City will build a water funhouse with a tipping bucket. I didn't realize until now that that is one attraction that they are lacking that most other parks have.

Sometimes Screamscape is right and sometimes it's not...

Sorry about talking about rumors.

I wouldn't consider two coasters a series quite yet, and they aren't even close. We'll see what the "major new coaster in late 2004" turns out to be.

Bird Of Prey Series??? the only major similarities Talon and Raptor share is they are both invertd B&M's

But IIRC, there is a clone of Raptor in Japan somewhere, I could look it up on rcdb but I'm just too lazy.

That's what I think he/she meant anyway. Just B&M Inverted coasters with a bird of prey theme.

I heard rumors of Cedar Point building a 600ft coaster. Im sure its not real but has anyone else heard of any thing else like this?

I've heard things about a 601 FT coaster but not a 600 FT one. ;)

May the Schwarz be with you.

Actually, vortex shedding got to it and it snapped in half - so they had to dismantle it and the one at Knott's as well. Poor Dip n Dots.
