For all you buzzers that were planning on going to cedarpoint on sept 6th, you may want to make other plans.

I thought that the basket company rented out the park in early may? I wonder who rented the park out this time.

what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard.
Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it.
I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

Why does it matter?

It's a Monday, in September, why would it be open anyways?

It's a Saturday.

Welcome back, red train, how was your ride?!

September 6th is a Saturday. The funny this is that the 2008 Rack Brochure says they're open Noon to 8pm.

I wish I was invited to that! Imagine how many of those world class coasters get you get in in one day! Imagine riding MF Maverick and TTD 3 times apiece. I bet whatever company it was shelled out a ton of money.

Top 5, in no particular order: 1. MF 2. Maverick, 3. Kraken 3. El Toro, 4. TTD 5. Superman Krypton Coaster Top overrated coasters: 1. Incredible Hulk (Boooooring!) 2. Nitro 3. Expedition G-force 4. Goliath(SFMM) 5. Any Dive Coaster

As these guys said, it's a Saturday, but even if it were a Monday it would be Labor Day, so they'd still be open. :)

Lots of people here have probably done that...and more.

Hell, just come to BooBuzz and you can do better than that.

Either they have a corporate buyout, or someone screwed up the online schedule, or they simply need that day to prep for Halloweekends. Why not just call and ask them....they might just tell you.

^^LG, Labor day is Sept. 1st this year (Labor day is always the first Monday in Sept thus it can only be Sept 1-7) I think the reason most are upset is that that weekend was "Joe Cool" week last year, and its obvious that is not returning this year.

2022 Trips: WDW, Sea World San Diego & Orlando, CP, KI, BGW, Bay Beach, Canobie Lake, Universal Orlando

I belive that is what LG was saying. If 9/6/08 was a Monday it would have been Labor Day. *** Edited 1/31/2008 11:34:42 PM UTC by lumpy72***

Dorney Park changes their schedule and closes for more private events long after their brochure is published each year ... perhaps the cash from a private event is worth some ticked off, brochure holding customers?

Exactly.

If the 6th of September is ever a Monday - it's HAS to be Labor Day...simple as that.

I heard one year they had "Saturn Day Buyout" And not surprisingly, many of those employees did own Saturns.

Back then, there was only 1 or 2 models of Saturn with only about 5 color choices, so by the end of the day, there was a little confusion into who car was whos.

My brother had a 1992 Saturn with 160,000 miles and a rebuilt engine.
I'm currently driving My 1989 Accord with 202,000 miles.

Wow Jason...that was totally new information!

^ Do you think I'm stupid? I was the 4th person to post in this thread. I linked the event page because beast7369 was talking about the schedule and wondering if it was correct. I thought this solidified the fact that the schedule on the website was not a mistake. But thank you for your sarcastic remark.

This was probably a recent scheduling...hence the discrepancy. I'm sure it will be in the getaway guide as a closed day.

I would think being this early in the year, that they want to fix the rack brochure as well. Were there any complaints last year about the height restrictions on Maverick? In the Park Guide it said 48". Before they opened they changed it to 52". IIRC, It wasn't reflected in the literature until the Halloweekends Fright Guide came out.

Most buyouts are planned FAR in advance. If I had to take a guess I would say that X company had booked a buyout for Geauga Lake for this year...and that park is now closed...so Cedar Fair worked out an alternative utilizing Cedar Point.

Again, just a guess. Now the question is: If folks have reservations at the Cedar Point hotels (which is likely they did) will they let those folks in the park on that day?
