With the 2020 election less than two months away, the state of Ohio’s "Ready for November Task Force" hosted a virtual meeting Thursday morning to discuss the state's plan for the November election amid the pandemic. Among the special guests during the meeting was Jason McClure, the Vice President and General Manager of Cedar Point. He was brought into the conversation to provide insight about how the Sandusky amusement park has effectively managed lines this summer with social distancing measures in place. The task force listened to his comments to determine if any of the park's safety strategies might work at polling places throughout the state this fall.

Honestly, they’ve done a really piss poor job enforcing social distancing. People do *not* understand why the social distancing markers are 12’ apart Instead of 6’. It is so that you are diagonally always 6’ from someone. But every time I get into any line people crowd you from behind or get mad and want to go around you for actually following the guidelines.
It becomes such a negative environment it has really sucked the fun out of it for me in most cases, unfortunately.
You can’t expect the park to “enforce” social distancing in every queue across 300 acres. It just isn’t practical. Personal responsibility has to come into play. They might be able to do a better job of placing markers but no place of business is actively enforcing social distancing.
No, I haven’t. But how much of their success is people behaving versus employees playing hall monitor?
The parks created a team specifically to enforce Covid related polices. I'm sure that plays into the success of social distancing at the Disney parks.

Heck you walk into a Walmart and they have the social distancing on the floors but people ignore it and do their own thing. Most of the employees don't follw the guidelines i notice some ignore the guidelines. I think most places ignore the guidelines but they have them their so they don't get in trouble
I had no problems with distancing the 3 days we were at CP this season. Everyone was very good about it and they had people in the coaster queues correcting people if they weren't. Maybe it depends on the day. I've noticed at KW that usually it's great, but sometimes the crowd just doesn't care.
Hi
As with other parks I went to this year, each day with distancing and mask wearing was different. One day it was a disaster, the next it was fine.
But I will say that the poor distancing and mask wearing stuck out more at Cedar Point than any other park because Kings Island had-by far- the best covid management/policy enforcement of any of the parks, which led me to believe that CP would be the same, because CF tends to be so consistent in policies/execution between parks and tends to be more rigid about rule enforcement than most other park chains (at least in my experience). Particularly that first day, they did not deliver the experience I would have expected from them based on past precedent at CP and my experience at KI a few weeks prior.
Granted, they were the most obviously understaffed of the parks I visited this year, so there's only so much they were realistically able to do. But I certainly wouldn't be using them as the model for anyone else to follow based on the experience I had.

To be fair, that's pretty much any season at Cedar Point these days if you don't plan your trip in the peak summer season between late June and mid August.

Definitely, but naturally it's worse this year than I've ever seen it. They were certainly trying-and I did see a number of employees from other CF parks that weren't able to open-but there's only so much they could do.
